Story
Welcome to the rescue little Meadow!  Meadow is believed to be a female aussie mix  and is estimated to be about 2 years old.  She was rescued from a deplorable Southern Shelter in Louisiana. Meadow is very sweet and is said to be attentive and ready to herd something.  She participates in a doggie playgroup and does very well with the other dogs.  Meadow is currently being fostered in Louisiana, but we are accepting applications for her now.  She is fully vetted and spayed and is ready for her new home.   All she needs is someone to give her a chance!  We will update information as we get to know her better.  Meadow's adoption fee is $400 which goes towards spaying at our vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and transportation fees.  ##2197374##

Story
Milo is a 4 year old Australian Shepard/Border Collie mix. We found him on a Facebook group and were told he was born on a farm. We brought him home at 8 weeks old. Milo is one of the sweetest dogs and really enjoys a good cuddle. This has been a really hard decision for us but he does have some behavioral issues. We have put a lot of time, money and effort into him but I dont think our household is the best fit for him. He has a lot of energy and really needs to be in a home with land and somewhere he can be assigned jobs. We do have another dog and a cat. My other dog is older so they just co-exist and get a long for the most part. Milo has gone to boarding and day care and has always done fine with other dogs there. He does enjoy chasing our cat around but has never harmed him. When he was a puppy he did try to herd kids we had him around and barks when he sees children, so we have chosen to keep him away from anyone young. Would like to share more info about him!

Story
Mario is a border collie mix and came to the shelter in June as a stray. We think he`s about seven years old, and he weighs about forty-three pounds. He`s timid at first, but given time, patience, and a few treats, and he warms up. He`s very food-motivated and loves his treats and kongs. He`s patient in the bath and in the car. He also knows sit and down. We think he would do well in a home with respectful kids, twelve and up.

Penny needs a home where she can get lots of exercise and attention. She is a sweet dog but I have had a change in my living situation and I can not adequately give her the attention she deserves.

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation WAIVED if picked up in TN, $100 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Meet Burt, a joyful, goofy and lovable mixed breed pup looking for his forever home! Burt is just over one year old and weighs in at 53 pounds. With his possible Australian Kelpie and Mountain Cur heritage, Burt brings a perfect blend of playfulness and smarts. In a familiar environment, he's a happy medium-energy dog who enjoys making his humans laugh. One of Burt's most endearing habits is his "yoga" pose, where he stretches out with his legs behind him. It's a sight that never fails to bring a smile! He has a particular fondness for squeaky toys, often carrying them around like prized possessions. Burt has gone thru a basic training course with his foster, leaning commands like Sit, Down, Place and going into his kennel on command. He is housetrained and has even started ringing bells on the back door to signal when he needs to go out. His crate training is impeccable, making him a great companion for someone who needs to be away during the workday. This charming pup loves belly rubs, ear scratches, running with other dogs, and digging for critters in the yard. While he can be timid around new people, especially men, he warms up quickly with treats and the presence of other dog friends. Although he's not a fan of cats or livestock, he would thrive in a home with a similarly energetic dog. Burt had a tough start in life. He was brought to us injured after being shot in the face, and there are still some bullet fragments lodged there. This makes him breathe (and snore) loudly and sometimes gives him a runny nose, but otherwise, he is not affected by his past injuries. Burt is looking for a loving home with a fenced yard where he can safely play and explore. His ideal family would be patient and willing to continue his training, helping him learn new tricks and build confidence. Burt's resilience and loving nature make him a truly special dog ready to bring joy to his new home.  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. November 18, 2024, 4:00 pm
