Story
Bear, aka "teddy bear" is a gentle goofball who just wants to be with his family. He loves his humans and hinds quickly. He follows his foster mom around the house just to be close to her. He's very sweet, loving and playful. He gets on great with his foster's kids and dogs and has the softest fur you've ever felt. He is very athletic, loves to play fetch and is a champ at catching a frisbee. He would do best in a home with a playful dog friend. Bear is approx 8 months old and will likely grow to 75-80 ish lbs. He is fully house trained, the sweetest gentlest soul and an all around good boy.  He is working on leash walks and not yelling at the postman- Bear tends to bark at other dogs when out on a walk and at new people when he first meets them but quickly warms up when given reassurance.  So he would do best with a loving owner who can also be a pack leader.  He has a bad habit of curling up next to you and stealing your heart... please adopt this dog before he accidentally becomes a permanent member of his foster family. We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard - not electric or Fido fences as they are not as safe at containing dogs or keeping other animals or people out. For these reasons we do not adopt to homes with electric or Fido fencing. The adoption fee is $500 which includes age appropriate vaccines, microchip, monthly flea, tick and heart worm preventatives at time of adoption and age appropriate spay/neuter.

Story
Loki is a 3 year old 37 lbs Australian Shepherd mix with an endless capacity for love. Loki is super sweet, enjoys playing ball, running around in the yard, going on walks and loves other dogs. He is house trained, knows basic commands, and learns new ones with ease. Loki is wonderful with the female Golden Retriever in his foster home and gets along great with the 3 young teenage boys in the home. We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard - not electric or Fido fences as they are not as safe at containing dogs or keeping other animals or people out. For these reasons we do not adopt to homes with electric or Fido fencing. Story
This poor little sweetie found wandering by Animal Control needs a hero NOW! Scout, the deaf/blind Mini Aussie puppy CT Animal House pulled from Animal Control, has been working very hard on his training and he is now ready to find a permanent family to love. ⭐️ He is a loving dog. ⭐️ Likes car adventures. ⭐️ His ideal home would have a person that works from home, has experience with herding breeds or special needs dogs. Has a yard with a fence, as he loves the outdoors! ⭐️He likes kids, but we would like him to go to a home with older kids over 10. CT Animal House will set up zoom training with a specialized trainer at our cost. If you are a special person with a soft spot for special needs dogs and have experience with special needs please fill out our app at ctanimalhouse.org! Thank you! 🐾💙

Story
Available In Old Lyme, CT This very handsome dude is Kumo! He is currently in a board/train facility in CT. He is a 2 year old energetic boy. After working with him I have learned that the best place for him would be a place with no children or other animals and an area that will have a fenced in yard with a calm area neighborhood. Kumo is a young energetic dog that loves to eat. Kumo knows his basic commands and tries to push the envelope when it come to wait and stay. When he relaxing he would prefer to be left alone. Kumo enjoys his chew toys. Kumo needs time to warm up to new people. He likes to be asked to do something over being pushed physically. Kumo will go far in the right home. He wants to work and be loved. Kumo likes to walk, jog, snuggle and get lots of pets. He is high energy with a big appetite. Kumo is neutered, current on immunizations, housebroken and on preventatives. If you think this boy is a good fit for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts. Disclosure: Kumo has a bite history, however he has been in a board/train facility for a few months and the trainer has seen no sign of this behavior.

Story
In Winsted, CT Hi my name is Roman! I’m about 6 months old and about 27 lbs! My mom is a purebred Australian shepherd but I never met my dad. I was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas and travelled to the Northeast to find my furever home. I love to meet new dogs and play. I have yet to meet a dog I won’t play with. I also love people. I like to like faces and ears. I like kids too! I’m pretty outgoing once I meet someone-occasionally I can be a little shy before I meet them but I don’t take long to be their new best friend! While I love to play, I do enjoy lounging on foster dad’s lap. I’m still working on potty training; I need to be on a leash so I don’t forget why I’m outside- there’s so many distractions… I’m also very smart and learn quick. I can even let myself back inside foster mom’s house when I hear kibble being put in bowls… I also have a quirky nub tail- it wags up and down, I don’t know why. I love toys but don’t like to share with just anyone. I can be very selective, we’re working on that. Would someone like to be my forever family? If so, here is the appliction: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoptions There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to my new furever family, a REFUNDABLE $50 neuter deposit which will be refunded upon proof of neuter and $125 transport fee which is what we were charged for professional transport from Texas to Connecticut.

Story
In Winsted, CT Hi, my name is Claymore! My mom was an Australian shepherd but I never met my dad. I was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas and transported to the NE to find my furever family. I love meeting new dogs, I bark at them sometimes to play with me. I play gently and with anyone who wants to. I’m kind of shy and reserved with people but once I get to know you I know we’ll be best buds! I’m only about 6 months old and while I love to play, I also love to relax with my foster mom and sit in her lap at the local brewery. I’m working very hard with my potty training and trying to understand leashes. Foster mom says I’m doing good. Currently I sleep in a crate but I would very much like to sleep next to my human. I’m also very confused about that dog in the mirror and bark at it. Can someone be my forever family? ttps://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoptions There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to my new furever family, a REFUNDABLE $50 neuter deposit which will be refunded upon proof of neuter and $125 transport fee which is what we were charged for professional transport from Texas to Connecticut.
