Story
Blue was born around July 22, 2020 and weighs about 55 pounds.  Blue was found by a local dog control officer and when no one came looking for him we were glad to help.  Blue arrived with extreme hair loss and secondary bacterial infections from flea dermatitis. Blue's skin is healing nicely but will take months to look beautiful again.  Blue's toenails were so overgrown that they twisted in on themselves like pretzels.  Even though Blue must have been in significant pain he was wonderful and so sweet for his initial evaluation and nail trim.  Blue has been fine with the other dogs here and rode nicely in the car.  Blue walks ok on a leash but could use a few lessons regarding pulling. We cannot imagine Blue would have issues living with children but maybe older kids just to be on the safe side.  Blue is ready to live his best life with humans who adore him and will take care of his every need from here on out.   He is not a noisy dog we love.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $350.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. Story
Whimsy was born about June 13, 2024 and will likely weigh in the 65# range when full grown.  The story goes that two sisters decided to pick out a puppy and went to see the litter and the conditions were so bad that they each took 3 puppies!  As you can imagine this became a bit too much for a single mom with a few children and she tearfully surrendered the teenage puppies to Joyful so we could get them vet care and find them forever homes - apart.  Siblings should not grow up together and each of these fur kids need separate homes.  Whimsy is the smallest of the three with the longest fur.  They were said to be Aussie/St. B. mixes....well, maybe???  Whimsy is on the timid side, somewhat relaxed for her age, and incredibly sweet.  She hasn't a clue how to walk on leash and so she lays down!  We'll be working on this since it's not too bad taking her for a 'carry' right now, but she still has some growing to do!  She is wonderful with other dogs and cats alike.  She was wonderful with the children in the home with the youngest being a rather wild 3 year old.  She is very snuggly and likes to be a lap dog whenever possible.  Whimsy LOVES water and is a swimmer!  She can be a chewer and will need a crate when unsupervised, but she will release anything in her mouth easily when asked to do so.  There was some drooling on their way in the car coming here and one of the siblings did vomit, they have not been in the car much so this should get better with experience.  She may submissive urinate when feeling intimidated so if interested you may want to google this to understand that this behavior will diminish with her humans greeting her and ignoring the behavior.  This is easiest done on a surface easy to wipe up.  Whimsy did live remotely and would stay around the house with her humans without a leash and that is why she doesn't know what to do on leash and she has not been on one until a teenager.  Whimsy has too much interest in chickens or other fowl to live with any.  She is house trained but with so many changes please be ready for some work ahead.  Whew!  This is a lot and hopefully will help with anyone making a decision to apply for this girl! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__550.00__. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. This is Freddy! Freddy is the sweetest boy ever! When Freddy came to us he was skin and bones with severe sores on his legs from living his life in a crate. Freedy loves to run around in our dog yard and play fetch. He gets along great with other dogs. He does need some work on his leash manners and is not fully housebroken yet.
