Say hello to Theo, a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with the softest ears and at the sweetest personality. Theo is happiest when hes getting lots of attention, lots of activity, and lots of treats. Theo is afraid of other dogs, so he would thrive in a quieter, rural or suburban home with a fenced yard and few canine neighbors, where he can relax, explore, and not run into dogs around every corner. Hes a classic herding dog wants to be by your side and wants to join you in the garden in the summer and in the garage in the winter. He would do well with an experienced dog owner, and even better with someone who has experience with and love for herding dogs. He is good with all humans, whether friends or strangers, but he is shy at first. Once hes comfortable, Theos true personality shines: *Eager to pleaseand loves to learn*Loves a good stuffed boneor an antlerand isnt a counter surfer*Housebrokenand doesnt see the point of a crate *Enjoys hikesand keeping the yard free of chipmunks*Favorite phrase:Lets go! Theo is currently in Jersey City, NJ, but city life isnt his thing, as close encounters with other dogs make him anxious. When he feels overwhelmed, he will bark or lunge, so in the city he wears a basket muzzle on walks as a precaution to prevent an inadvertent bite from his reactivity or redirection. He has lived with another dog before and might do well with the right match, but hed be perfectly happy as an only pet in a consistent home where he can just be himself. Theo has not been cat tested. This handsome fellow and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Recently have the need to rehome my 5 year old mini Aussie. He is good with kids of all ages, dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and goats. He knows basic commands (sit, down, stay, wait). Unfortunately, home situation is no longer suitable or fair for him with needing to be out of the house for extended hours due to a child with a severe medical condition. He does chew/will try to eat things when left alone but is also crate trained and does excellent in his crate. Please let me know if you are interested. He would do best in a home with children and absolutely loves kids. I have had him since he was a puppy and I am heartbroken we are in this situation so i am highly motivated to find him a good home he will love.

I am looking to rehome him because we recently had a baby and no longer have the time he deserves to play, exercise, and receive daily attention. I am seeking a sweet, loving home with owners who have the time and experience to care for him properly. Striker is a loyal and loving dog who grew up during the COVID period and did not receive early socialization. As a result, he can be protective and cautious when first meeting new adults, children, or dogs and may bark initially. With slow and consistent introductions, he has successfully socialized with other dogs over time. He can be protective of his food, so an experienced owner who understands boundaries is important. He is up to date on vaccinations, though he may need a booster. He has fear-based aggression, anxiety, resource guarding, and separation anxiety.
