Toodaloo! Hi there, I'm Teddy! I'm a handsome and friendly boy whose owner unfortuneytly couldnt take care of me anymore. That's okay, as I make friends with everyone! I look to be around 3 and 1/2 year old. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2282367##

Story

Daisy is a mini Australian shepherd. She is a very sweet girl, crate trained, stays close by (she'll be your shadow!) and follows all commands. She is easy to train and loves to work for treats! Her favorite things are laying in water in the summertime, playing in the snow, belly rubs and learning new commands! Since she is a herding dog, she would do best in a household with no kids or kids that are at least 12 yrs old, no cats, and an owner that is around all the time that can give her lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Maybe even someone with a fenced in backyard. I currently have an invisible fence which she stays inside of without issue. She would be best in a quiet household and someone that can dedicate time to mental stimulation and training as she is extremely intelligent.

Sophie is a sweet girl looking for a new forever home. She is a little shy at first but has tons of energy and needs someone that can give her lots of walks and play time enless games of fetch. She is good with kids and other dogs but does seem to shy away when around other dogs and we are unsure how she would be with cats. She is crate trained and knows a few basic commands but not many. She is a smart girl and Im sure she could know more with some patience and training.

Journey is a sweet 9 month old puppy, who has a lot of energy and cuddles to share with everyone she meets. She loves all people and animals. I've had her since she was 2 months old, but shortly after getting her my husband passed away and my daughter and my life has changed in many ways, and we no longer have the time to dedicate to Journey in the way that she needs. She needs a home with another dog or children/family that can play with her and give her all the attention that she deserves. She loves cats. She is house broken. Recently had a hair cut, but she has long hair. She is a very smart sweet girl. I hate to have to give her up, but she deserves a family that can give her everything she needs, and with my situation and how my life has changed, I can no longer provide the time and dedication that she needs.

Creek is a three year old purebred black tri Australian Shepherd. He is a good, sweet-natured pup, but needs more than what we can provide for him as we have a young family. He is not too wild, but has energy and likes to look outside and wait for a squirrel to chase. He gets along with other dogs, but make sure food and toys are not in the mix. He is sweet with my children, and has not had any problem with them. He loves snuggles and every morning he greets you with a song because he is so happy and excited to see you! I never heard a dog do that :) This is a tough decision for us and we are waiting for just the right family to rehome Creek.

*ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED* This is Gimli. We believe that she is a Australian Shepherd mix. She will end up around 25-30 pounds. Gimli came to Judy's Forgotten Jewells on June 1st. She was brought to us by a Missouri shelter with her littermates. Since she has been in care, staff members say that she is sooo sweet and playful. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those around her size. She was previously in a home with another older, larger dog and a cat. While she was behaving appropriately with them, the resident pets were not adjusting to her. She is smart and would make a wonderful adventure buddy for an active family. The adoption fee includes their care, de-worming, microchip, neuter, vaccines, fecal test, and preventatives up to the point of adoption.
