Story
Hi there! I am a lovable little puppy! Even though I am cute as a button I will take some work as I adjust into my new home. Don`t get me wrong, we will have a lot of fun in the meantime but I will need time to understand what`s expected of me. I will need help on all those fun puppy things like house training and basic obedience. I want to learn everything I possibly can. I am pretty excited about life and doing new things! My goal is to be your lifelong companion and I should learn quickly with praise, treats and little patience. I`d really love for us to get enrolled in training classes, after all school is the best way to get us both educated on what it takes to raise a puppy! It will be fun to watch me as I`m learning, after all puppies can be pretty silly. If you`re ready to take on all the fun and companionship, come on out to Wayside Waifs today! My home needs are:I am deaf. I can’t hear you, but I can feel the love you give!

Story
Please read bio before applying! Meet Merlin. This young man has had a rough go of it at just 1 year old. Merlin came to us as a commercial breeder release and when we got him at 6 months old, he had never been handled by humans. As a result, he is very distrusting of humans and requires a lot of patience and time to adjust to new people. Merlin is very dog friendly and because he is more comfortable with dogs than humans, we are requiring that he go to a home with at least one other canine. This will help set him up for success. He will also need a home with a secure fenced in yard, as he can be a bit of a flight risk, and he will need a home with no small children. Merlin has the potential to be an amazing companion, he just needs someone who will give him the time he needs to adjust

Story
A Master of the Leash: Walking Romeo is an absolute dream. No tug-of-war here; he understands the assignment and maintains excellent manners, making your daily strolls the highlight of the day rather than a workout for your arms. The Ultimate Adventure Partner: Do you like road trips? So does Romeo. He is a stellar car rider, settling in comfortably and enjoying the view. Whether it’s a quick trip to the coffee shop or a cross-country trek, he’s just happy to be included in the journey. He’s Got a Voice (And He’s Not Afraid to Use It): Romeo is a vocal boy. He doesn’t just bark at shadows; he `talks` to you. Whether he’s telling you about his day, reminding you it’s dinner time, or giving you a happy `woo-woo` when you walk through the door, you’ll never feel lonely with his expressive personality around.

Story
Scout is 9 years old. We have had him for 8 years. We purchased him from an individual who could no longer keep him. We used him as a stud to breed. Since we had two studs, he was separated from our other dogs. He was kept inside the home until he "came of age". He has primarily been kept in a dog run with inside shelter. Scout doesn't know a stranger. He loves everyone. He has never shown any aggression to any person or animal. I am not aware of anything that rattles him. We live in the country. We take him out of the dog run daily for play and exercise. He loves to play fetch with a ball. He will fetch the ball an average of three or four times, then he voluntarily returns to the dog run. He'll drop the ball, then lay down and wants his stomach scratched. After a good scratch, he returns to the dog run where he waits for his milk bone treat. If a car happens to go by, he'll look at it, then go back to whatever he was doing. He has never chased a vehicle.
