COURTESY LISTINGPlease contact  Sam 816-616-0031 or Barb 816-229-8650 for more information! Brody and he will be six years old on September 21st.  He loves to be loved and wants all the attention in the world, but would prefer us not to get in his face. He likes small dogs, he is not very receptive to bigger dogs. He loves to play frisbee, and likes car rides, very afraid of thunderstorms, fireworks, & tools, but he feels safe in his kennel during those times. He is potty trained, and kennel trained. Brody is very protective of his food, so we feed him and leave him alone. He loves children, but because he is so protective of his food, maybe an adult home or an adult home with older children would suit him best, as that protectiveness might frighten young children. Brody was neutered on January 3, 2023.  He also had his teeth cleaned at that time. He likes kettle popcorn, and a little taste of cool whip once in a while. For more information, please contact  Sam directly: 816-616-0031, Barb 816-229-8650, or email packhamb@gmail.com.The animal listed on this page was listed as a courtesy to help find the animal a home. This animal is current on shots, altered and heart worm tested; however, Furry Kids' Refuge cannot be held responsible for its medical condition.  This animal is not covered by Furry Kids' Refuge policies and procedures or contract. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please contact the person listed on the page. Furry Kids' Refuge representatives can not answer any questions about this animal or its status of availability. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
This sweetheart found herself homeless due to housing issues. She is around 6 months old and 25 pounds. She has lived with kids in the past, and is an absolute LOVE BUG! She is a stunning dog, who loves everyone she meets! All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to chose from at the shelter as well. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.

Story
Mina was adopted from the Denver, CO humane society. She was 9 months old when we brought her home and she is currently 7 years old. She is very loving, adores women and children, and loves giving kisses! Mina will warm up to new men but it takes some time and consistency to achieve this. She does not like being around other dogs in her home but is kind and gentle with cats. She will start fights with other dogs over human attention and this is what has prompted us to look for a new home where she can be the only dog in the household. Mina is food and affection motivated, crate trained, and knows around 10 commands including Sit, Drop it, Leave it, and Off (get off furniture). She is very intelligent and learns new commands quickly with treat re-enforcement. It is with a heavy heart that we are seeking a local situation best for her and her temperament. We are interested in offering free dog sitting when her new owner/family is out of town in order to still see her on occasion.
