Story
Name: Kodda Breed Guess: Aussie/Hound mix Age: 6 years old Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 65 pounds Requires fenced in yard: Yes Shelter Temperament: Sweet & Friendly Children: 12 years and up only Cats: OK, needs boundaries Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $150 Likes: Going for walks/runs/hikes Snacks of all kinds Snuggles Playing fetch Kodda has been with us for six months and needs an active home with a fenced-in yard. In his previous home, he was the perfect hiking buddy. He loved to go on so many adventures. He was also the go-to snuggler. After six years of living the life of an only child in a wonderful home, a new baby arrived, and due to his inability to co-exist with the baby, he was returned to the shelter. He is currently on medicine to help with his shelter anxiety. His breed thrives on activity, and he misses the stability of a home. Kodda would love to be the only child or belong to a family with older children. He is great on walks and is not reactive to other dogs. However, he is used to being the only dog and would require a meet and greet with an existing family dog. Kodda knows basic commands, like sit, down, come, quiet, and wait. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Grand Rapids, MI Meet Tiga! She is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 35 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Tiga hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. No younger children or dogs, due to her reactivity! She is housebroken and crate-trained. The owner is surrendering her because she doesn’t do well with younger children. She needs to go by 1/28! If you think you can provide a great home for Tiga, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Tiga. Owner’s Contact Information: Kassidy at kjnoyes2@gmail.com.

Story
Tally Tally is a Female Aussie/Corgi Mix (50#) DOB: November of 2022 Adoption fee: $100.00 If you’re looking for a companion to walk with, cuddle with, spend your days off and evening with, look no further. I can be all those things for the right person, couple or family. I am a good medium size girl, and I have the energy to match. I am not overly active but will require regular exercise. I appear to be house, and crate trained. With no history of my past, I will require a physically fenced yard. I will need some work with leash training but should respond well to positive reinforcement training. I may be best as the only dog in my new home. A meet and greet can be conducted, but there are no guarantees, and I am not recommended with other female dogs. I should do well with children 8 years and older pending observed interaction. I do have a slight prey drive, with an experienced owner and dog savvy cat... I could be trained with an indoor cat. (no guarantees) Otherwise, I am a superb girl who will make a great companion.

Story
“HI ALL!!! My name is Tina (but I answer to hand signals!) I’m under 4years old as much as I love my friends here I really would LOVE a foster or forever home that can help me along- I have had a hard time training due to being deaf and some people just don’t understand me:( I would require a new parent to be very understanding and knowledgeable regarding hearing impaired pets or willing to work with me. I have been returned a few times due to my mouth getting me into trouble:( But, I know my forever home is out there!!! I’m the best girl ever I promise and I would LOVE a place to call home for now or permanently that has prior experience with a deaf puppy!!!”   ##575157##
