This boy was brought back because he was too much of a puppy who chewed because he was left alone and bored. So he is on the hunt for a family who will understand his needs and keep him busy!! He has a lot of energy and playing is his thing. He likes to play with other dogs, chew on toys and run run run. He does fine with kids, will have to learn about cats. He will need some work on housetraining and leashes. He is a bit stubborn when learning manners so will need a family who can work with that. A routine that occupies his time would also be a plus as that works with his breed mix. He is a sweet boy that has a wonderfully fun personality who just wants to live to the fullest. He needs a life full of adventures and activities and we know that family is out there for him. Dax is being fostered in TN but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Nova is the last of her litter left and she does not understand why. :( She is a sweet, polite little girl who loves to play. Nova's momma was discovered pregnant along with 2 other pregnant dog moms on a community member’s property. We were able to help out one family at our and ended up with Rosie and her 5 babies! Mom looks to be a Aussie/Border Collie mix and we aren’t sure what dad might be. They have been spayed and Nova is ready for adoption! Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Grand Blanc, MI Meet Mocha! He is an 2 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 65 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Mocha is hostile around strangers! He is good with other dogs! He hasn’t been tested around younger children. No older children or cats, due to his reactivity! Mocha jumped up and bit 2 teenagers while they were walking by at a campground. One of these instances occurred while he was on leash and the other occurred in a fenced area. Mocha bit the owner’s friend while he was on leash and they walked by. He bit the owner’s husband while he was trying to put Mocha in his kennel. The most recent bite incident occurred when the owner’s dad was working on something in their house. Mocha ran up and bit him on the leg. The owner is surrendering him because of these bite incidents. They also aren’t able to provide the exercise that he needs. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Mocha, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Mocha. Susie is fearful when meeting new people and takes time to be comfortable. She does jump up on people when she is happy to see them. She loves to play with toys and other dogs. She does love to chew Nyla bones and antlers. She will bark when someone comes to the door and she sees things in the yard. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. Susie will chase cats when they run and may try and play rough with them.She is an active dog but calms down in the house..Susie would love a fenced in yard to play in. She will bark at things she sees went outside in the yard. She would not do good in an apartment.Susie would be a great family dog. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Good afternoon everyone, I would like you to meet Sadie, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue. [] Sadie is a very sweet girl, she is a mixed breed, approx. 4 years old, and she weighs 45-50 pounds. Sadie has a short coat and beautiful blue eyes; she enjoys meeting and interacting with new people and she’s been fine meeting and playing with some of the other dogs under our care. Sadie had some vaccinations before her arrival and she went to Village Animal Clinic in Dexter recently for a heartworm test, wellness exam, and any vaccinations/boosters she still needed. Sadie was microchipped for her safety and she will be spayed at another appointment sometime in the near future. Upon her arrival from the shelter, we noticed Sadie had some tumors on both of her mammary chains. It’s also evident that she’s had at least one litter of pups, maybe more. At her first Vet visit we scheduled a chest X-ray and biopsies which were both completed about two weeks ago. Thankfully, her chest X-ray (3 views) was clear. After taking the biopsies of both mammary chains, the left side came back as benign. The right side also showed some benign tumor growth but there were a few questionable cells noted. For this reason, we have scheduled surgery for Sadie on September 3rd and her right mammary chain will be removed. After her full recovery, we will schedule another surgery to have her left mammary chain removed. (The cost for Sadie’s care will be about $3,000). We are all hoping for a full recovery and we’re looking toward a bright future for Sadie. These two surgeries are going to be difficult for her and I’m hopeful we can find a quiet (no kids or other dogs) foster home so Sadie can recover without the noise and chaos we sometimes see in the kennels.
