Story
“HI ALL!!! My name is Tina (but I answer to hand signals!) I’m under 4years old as much as I love my friends here I really would LOVE a foster or forever home that can help me along- I have had a hard time training due to being deaf and some people just don’t understand me:( I would require a new parent to be very understanding and knowledgeable regarding hearing impaired pets or willing to work with me. I have been returned a few times due to my mouth getting me into trouble:( But, I know my forever home is out there!!! I’m the best girl ever I promise and I would LOVE a place to call home for now or permanently that has prior experience with a deaf puppy!!!”   ##575157##

Story
I’m looking for someone who understands dogs like me—someone experienced and willing to invest a little time in training. I’m very smart and eager to learn, and with patience and consistency, I know I’ll make you incredibly happy.I would do best in a home with no other animals or children, where I can have all the attention and structure I need to thrive. I also need a securely fenced yard so I can stay active and burn off my energy—both physically and mentally. Keeping my brain busy is just as important as exercise for me!I do have hip dysplasia, but my vet has me on a management plan that keeps me comfortable. What I really need now is a home where I can rest on softer surfaces and live a more comfortable life than the shelter can provide. If you’re patient, active, and ready to build a strong bond with a loyal, intelligent companion, I might just be your perfect match.I can’t wait to meet you! 🐾DOB 8/8/20 44 poundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
Sweet Woody is ready a home of his own Woody is an Australian Shepherd who is approximately 4 years old. If You are familiar With the breed then you know how devoted they are to their owners. This goofy dude is amazing. Weighing 50# and with a gorgeous coat he is all about the love.  Trapped in January this guy was in rough shape. With time and love he has blossomed into a wonderful companion. Woody does have a wonky hip that causes his gait to be slightly off. He is currently on a joint supplement called Dasaquin which was recommended by our vet. He will need to stay on this for the rest of his life. We expect at some point as he ages he may require additional medications to keep him comfortable.  We do prefer an adopter with breed experience. After all he is a working/herding breed. While he isn't driven like some I have met he does enjoy a good romp and occasional chase of the kitties. He would love to be someones walking partner. He currently is being fostered in a home with multiple dogs of all sizes. Woody is playful and silly. He will chase cats, but has good recall. Woody does need to be fed separately and if food is present can be mean to other dogs. We do crate Woody when we are gone. A fenced yard is not required, but he should be leashed walked. Squirrels, rabbits, and birds are  so fun to chase. Woody adores kids and is 100% housebroken. Woody is fully vetted. He will also come with his joint supplement. A home without many steps would be ideal as they can be challenging. Please also consider this breed will require regular grooming to keep his skin and hair coat healthy. Woody is an absolute love. He will shower you with attention and affection. He is calm and laid back with a playful fun side that will make you laugh. To fill out an application please visit www.trackingintheshadows.com Adoption fee $200All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention We do not adopt to homes with underground/electric fencing Must live within an hour of Elkhart/Cassopolis adoption fee is $200. He is fully vetted for 1 year, neutered, microchipped, & on monthly preventatives. Once approved, we will set up a day/time for you to meet Woody.  Please be ready to take him home within 1-3 days after application approval. *We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved.* Please live within 1 hour of Elkhart, Indiana ##2649280##

Story
Molly is a beautiful and sweet natured gal. She has a quiet demeanor. Shes lived her live on a farm and is primarily an outside dog. She is NOT housebroken. She is good being in a crate if needed. We are unable to keep her no fault of her own. I could see her best in a home that's not too loud and people that just want a sweet dog around. A fenced area is best, though not mandatory. She doesn't roam, and has a good recall. She is not neutered, but certainly can be. Molly is 10 years old, aprox 45# is healthy and I would expect her to live into her teens. Please contact us with more questions or to make an appointment to meet her. Thank you.
