Story
Sophie and James, a devoted brother and sister duo, are ready to thrive in a new home. After their owner's passing, they were sent to live with relatives who couldn't provide the care they deserved. We stepped in to give them a second chance, bringing their vet care up to date and providing a senior blood panel and dental care. Sophie is a vibrant, loving soul who adores belly rubs and rolling over. James, a laid-back gentleman, enjoys gentle pets and navigates his surroundings with remarkable adaptability despite his cataracts. We're eager to find them a forever home where they can flourish in their golden years. Will you be their beacon of hope and love?

Story
Luca, is a 3yr old Miniature Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. He was born November 12th of 2020, was bought February 14th of 2021. He is house trained, knows the following commands; Sit, Stay, Wait, Lay down, “Can I see your paw”, spin. He has a sensitive stomach to human food, he does get diarrhea. We are currently feeding Purina Pro Plan Sensitive stomach salmon diet! He loves toys but will tear up any toys with stuffing in minutes, harder toys tend to last better. He loves the dog park and playing with other dogs, as long as they aren’t going home with him. He doesn’t seem to do well sharing a home with other dogs. We introduced him and our other dog about 2 years ago, a few months later Luca had started acting out. He seems sad all the time, doesn’t want to engage at all. He sits in his cage and won’t leave it, if he does then he will lay in front of it. We need to do what’s best for him and get him a good home where he can thrive and be happy. Please ask questions!

Story
We acquired our pet from a friend of a friend, she needed a new home because the previous owners had another dog that didn’t get along with her. Tiga is about 3 years old. Tiga needs a home that can give her a lot of love and attention. She loves to exercise and go on walks! Tiga would do best in a home without kids or other animals.

Story
Skeeter is an energetic mini Aussie. He is having a hard time with new people. He will bark and growl at them, basically he’s fear reactive. So he will bark and be scared at new people in the house, maybe a rock thats far away because he doesnt know what it is.. etc. We haven’t been diligent enough with socializing him. But he is 9 months so he can absolutely be worked on. Ive learned that our very small house mixed with small children doesnt help his nervousness. He needs someone who knows how to train his reactivity basically. Hes a great dog otherwise, learns very well and quickly, VERY snuggly, and loves to play. He is crate trained, potty trained pretty well. Knows sit, lay down, watch me, wait, stay, and leave it but can be worked on better. He is okay with recall, but needs more work. His right eye is blue, left is brown. Has a pretty brown merle coat. Pretty well trained to not nip at heels of feet (herding characteristics) but can be worked on better.

Story
This is Taz! He's a 1.5 years old, 40 pound, Aussie/Golden mix. He has the cutest, little nub tail! Taz is a really fun outdoorsy boy! He'll make someone a great hiking, riding, traveling buddy. Taz wants to be your Ride-or-Die Dog!! The staff introduced him to cats today. He was VERY curious but a little confused so over time and with a well behaved, respectful cat he’d be okay! Taz was one of the dogs transferred to NCAS from Van Buren Animal Control due to their extremely overcrowded conditions. Our shelter was honored to help out another shelter! The adoption fee for dogs is $90. This fee includes spay/neuter, deworming, heartworm test, rabies, Bordetella & DHLPP shots, flea & tick treatment and license (for Newaygo County residents).
