Ruger is an older fellow who came to us when his owner passed away from cancer.  His siblings and he didn't have much medical attention or socialization as they were chained for quite some time.  He is slowly learning what it means to be a dog but he is doing well in our prison program and is doing well with the other dogs.   He needs a fenced in yard (no more chains!) and a loving family.   Ruger is now available for adoption to a good and loving home. If you have a lot of love to share with a best friend please adopt one of our wonderful pets. I don’t even like to take treats from your hand. I prefer to wait until you drop it for me. I love to snuggle and I am great with children, cats, other dogs, and even chickens.
