Story
My name is Skye because of my beautiful blue eyes. I am a certified, grade A, Good Dog with a gentle disposition. I would be a great dog for any family and get along well with other dogs. I haven’t met any kitties so I’m not sure how I feel about them. More than anything I love being with my family and a devoted companion. Whatever you are doing, I will be right there, wagging my tail, and watching you with adoring eyes. I have a laid-back energy and am excellent at cuddling on the couch, chasing balls or playing with dog toys. I am well-behaved in the home, but I don’t enjoy having to be in a kennel - luckily my foster home has a really strong heavy-duty one. You’ll need one like that too if you want me to hang out in a kennel when you aren’t home. I’m really an all-around wonderful dog with a big heart and a lot of love that I am ready to share with whomever adopts me. To meet me, fill out an application at waalrescue.org/adopt.

Story
We have had Joey since he was a puppy, and he’ll be 8 in August. He’s true to his breed in being high energy, anxious, stubborn and full of love for his person. Unfortunately he has not adjusted well to us having our first child and we’ve had to keep him completely separate, which is just not fair to him at this point. He needs a home with no children, at least no small children, and no other pets. He needs a private space to run and play and burn some energy. He is house trained and had basic training as well as leash/walk training. We have unfortunately slacked on keeping up on those since having our son but he does great at getting right back into it with consistency. He’s an amazing dog, he just does best when he doesn’t have to share his person. He deserves a home he feels safe and at peace in and can have endless belly rubs.

Story
Sister senses "stranger danger" even where it doesn't exist. If she doesn't know you, she will bark ferociously but once you pass her "friend test" she is a devoted buddy. She's very smart, well-trained and since she likes her treats she is always looking for ways to impress you. She doesn't like cats or chickens so she'll make sure those pesky critters keep their distance. So whether you're looking for a security system or a best buddy or both, Sister is ready, willing and able. PS: she's not been around very many kids so her "kid manners" are unknown.
