Story
Meet Susie! She is a 3 month old shepherd mix puppy that is one out of a litter of 11! These adorable puppies have been raised in a fantastic foster home where they have been well socialized and given a great start on housetraining. The pups from this litter will be large breed dogs. This entire litter, and their momma, were facing euthanasia at a high kill shelter. Our fabulous foster agreed to help, so we scooped them up when they were only 1 week old and their lives turned around. Now all 11 of them are looking for a family to call their own! Susie loves playing with her 10 siblings. She sleeps all night curled up next to her sister but when morning comes she ready to eat! Susie uses the potty pad but will also potty in the yard if the need arises. Susie loves sitting on her foster mom's lap. Story
Pepper is eagerly looking for her forever home! This lovable 2-year-old sweetheart weighs 53 pounds and is a delightful mix, likely a combination of Husky and Australian Shepherd. With a coat as soft as a bunny, she adores belly rubs and cuddling with everyone in her foster home. Pepper enjoys chewing on her bones and occasionally barks, though she’s not as chatty as a typical Husky. She loves spending time outdoors, happily watching birds and squirrels from her yard. While she gets along well with other dogs, she would also thrive as the only dog in the household. To keep her safe and happy, Pepper requires a physically fenced yard where she can run and play freely. Rescued as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in Missouri, Pepper arrived with a lump on her throat. A veterinary visit revealed a damaged salivary gland that needed attention. After undergoing surgery at Iowa State University Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center, she’s on the mend. She also tested positive for Lyme disease but has since received treatment and is ready to find her new family. If you’re looking for a playful and affectionate companion, Pepper might just be the perfect addition to your life! Pepper is house trained, kennel trained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Pepper, please fill out the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. For questions about Pepper, please contact rox@furfunrecue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters within an hour of Cedar Rapids, IA only, please. Indoor homes only. Adoption donation $300.
