SHERLOCK SHERLOCK is a 1-year-old male, catahoula/cattle dog mix but that's just the start! You'd have to be Sherlock Holms to unravel the other 17 breeds mixed up in this happy little body! (how about Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, St. Bernard, Boxer, Chihuahua and the list goes on!!) He is full grown and weighs 45 lbs so the big and the little balanced each other out! SHERLOCK is very outgoing, and good with other dogs. He came to us from a local shelter where he was picked up as a stray. More than likely, someone got him as a puppy and then was not able to provide the proper amount of exercise. Thanks to our volunteers, he gets to go on long walks and investigate lots of things. Thanks to our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program, we had an inmate who was able to get him going in the right direction and teach him basic obedience. Time and alot of TLC, and we can really turn these dogs around. Sherlock's perfect family should be active. A good fenced in yard and another young dog to play with are also desired. He's fun to be around! IMPORTANT: Please Keep in mind both the age and life expectancy of Sherlock. Roscoe is a year old border collie/Australian shepherd mix. He is housebroken and crate trained, good with dogs and cats in the home. He is treat and toy motivated. He loves to run and play. He is a huge cuddle bug! He loves to take naps with me and cuddle on the couch. He loved just being around his person and becomes their shadow. His favorite games are fetch and tug. His favorite toys are hard chewing toys, rubber balls, and squeaky stuffies. He loved belly rubs and talking back! He knows how to use the speaking buttons for basic commands and it eager to learn more. In his training he has learned to sit, stay, wait, paw (shake), leave it, is excellent in his crate, and has had some practice with off leash training. He loves to play fetch and cuddle up on the couch. He is the perfect dog except for his reactivity out in public. We are looking for a rural home for him where he won't be in situations where he needs to navigate high traffic areas because they make him anxious.
