Story
River is a family dog that has been raised with 4 kids and 3 other dogs in the home. He loves his family and just wants pets and to be by your side. River has a hard time trusting strangers and is anxious around new people. Unfortunately we can no longer keep River due to his fear of new people and our lifestyle. River is a very well behaved house dog who loves walks, playing outside, laying with his humans, treats, and love. He is leash trained, crate (large kennel) trained, house trained, knows basic and a few fun commands, has decent recall, and has grew up on acreage. He loves to be active and be outside but will also lay around with you. He is very food motivated and that will definitely be helpful in developing his bond with new owners. He can be anxious but is not destructive. We would love to see River go to a home where he will be well loved. We have additional information we'd like to share with the right person. Story
Patrick’s past may always be a bit of a mystery since he came to us as a stray, but one thing is certain — he deserves a bright future. ❤️Patrick has been with us since February, and we have spent months helping him learn that people can be kind and that life can be safe and fun. When he first arrived, he was so terrified of human touch that he would urinate if someone tried to pet him. Watching him slowly come out of his shell has been incredibly rewarding. He is still a timid boy, but the progress he has made is amazing. Patrick absolutely loves other dogs, and they help give him confidence and comfort, so a home with a confident canine companion is a must for him.At just under a year old and around 65 pounds, Patrick is still very much a baby learning how to navigate the world. He has completed all of his vetting and is finally ready to begin the search for the patient, loving home he deserves.Patrick needs a family willing to give him time, understanding, and lots of encouragement — and in return, you’ll get to watch an incredible transformation unfold. ❤️Visit www.teambarc.com for more information and our online application. Story
Liberty (Libby) is a 25 pound red-tri color mini-Australian shepherd. She is a pure breed, but I did not send in her AKC papers and register her. Libby was born May 27, 2024. She is a very sweet and high-energy little girl.Libby is a typical herding dog. High energy, happy, adventurous, and will herd any cats in your yard.Libby has had some issues with her sister and has to be separated. A new home would make both dogs happier. She did get along with the other dogs she has lived with. We did go through many methods recommended by trainers and experts with no luck. I absolutely hate giving up, but it’s not fair to either dog to have their time split as they have to be separated. She does have a special diet, but I will have a list of all the foods she can eat (it’s not a super-expensive diet). She is late on her shots this year. Her adoption fee is free in exchange for you getting her shots at your vetShe is a beautiful sweet baby and needs a home where someone else can love & spoil her.

Story
Molly is a beautiful and sweet natured gal. She has a quiet demeanor. Shes lived her live on a farm and is primarily an outside dog. She is NOT housebroken. She is good being in a crate if needed. We are unable to keep her no fault of her own. I could see her best in a home that's not too loud and people that just want a sweet dog around. A fenced area is best, though not mandatory. She doesn't roam, and has a good recall. She is not neutered, but certainly can be. Molly is 10 years old, aprox 45# is healthy and I would expect her to live into her teens. Please contact us with more questions or to make an appointment to meet her. Thank you.

Story
I’m looking for someone who understands dogs like me—someone experienced and willing to invest a little time in training. I’m very smart and eager to learn, and with patience and consistency, I know I’ll make you incredibly happy.I would do best in a home with no other animals or children, where I can have all the attention and structure I need to thrive. I also need a securely fenced yard so I can stay active and burn off my energy—both physically and mentally. Keeping my brain busy is just as important as exercise for me!I do have hip dysplasia, but my vet has me on a management plan that keeps me comfortable. What I really need now is a home where I can rest on softer surfaces and live a more comfortable life than the shelter can provide. If you’re patient, active, and ready to build a strong bond with a loyal, intelligent companion, I might just be your perfect match.I can’t wait to meet you! 🐾DOB 8/8/20 44 poundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes.
