Story
Simba is a Australian shepherd and blue heeler mix. I got him when he was just barely a month old from a friend of a friend. He is now a little over a year old. Preferably he goes to a home where he has some room to run because he tends to be an outside dog, but likes to chill inside and hang out with the whole family. Hes a very energetic and exuberant young dog who loves to play, but hes house trained and goes to the door when we wants to be let out. Hes been trained to sit, and stay, but hes not extremely good at it just yet. He also comes to my side almost every time when I call his name, whistle a specific way, or snap my fingers. Hes a quiet gentle dog when playing with other dogs and doesnt bark very often.

Story
I AM CURRENTLY IN FOSTER!Hi, I’m Orpheus — but my foster family calls me Opie.I’m a very sweet, good-natured boy who’s been through more than my heart should have had to handle. I’m fully housebroken, I absolutely love other dogs, and I’m learning — slowly but surely — that the world doesn’t have to be such a scary place.I am extremely fearful, and that fear is deeply imprinted from earlier experiences in my life. New people, unfamiliar environments, loud noises, and too much stimulation can be overwhelming for me. Building trust with me takes time, patience, and a calm presence. I don’t do well with being rushed, talked at, or “love-bombed” — for me, comfort comes from quiet energy, predictable routines, and respectful body language. When trust does begin to form, that’s where the magic happens. After two months in foster care, I’ve started seeking out affection on my own terms and have even begun snuggling on the couch with my foster mom. Those moments are incredibly special because they’re earned — and they mean everything.I would thrive in a home with space, including a dedicated area where I can feel safe and decompress. Having at least one confident, friendly dog in the home is very important for me — other dogs help me feel secure and act as a bridge between me and the human world.I’m not the kind of dog who will greet you at the door right away — but for the right person, willing to move at my pace and let trust grow naturally, I will be a deeply rewarding companion. If you believe in quiet progress, patience, and the beauty of watching a fearful dog learn to feel safe, I may be the one you’ve been waiting for.Currently, I am available for adoption. If you`re interested in adopting me, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. All of my love and kisses, Orpheus /(^.^)\",AVAILABLE"

Story
Meet Mason! This incredibly sweet boy is looking for a new forever home.He is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd mix, about 70 pounds, and full of love (and energy)! His current caretakers are an elderly couple, in their 80's, who stepped in to help when a family member could no longer care for him due to medical issues. While they adore Mason, he's a bit too energetic for their lifestyle, and they want to make sure he finds a home that can keep up with him. Mason's ideal home would be an active family with older children or no children. He hasn't spent time with kids but has not shown any aggression toward them. Mason Is good with other dogs and would also be ok as the only dog in the home. Mason is up to date on vaccinations and is fully crate trained and house trained! He is a love bug, full of heart and is awaiting his next adventure!    Please consider helping this sweet adorable guy and apply today! Mason can't wait to snuggle and play!    ##2458820##

Despite the name, Kevin is a girl. She is 8 yrs old, weights 45lbs, and loves attention! Despite her age, she is young at heart and has a lot of energy. She loves walks, chewing on sticks, playing fetch, and swimming. She does well with (older) kids, but becomes anxious around toddlers. Her favorite treats are bananas and peanut butter.

Story
Meet FiFi a.k.a. “Rotunda” ✨ Please help us welcome this absolute sweetheart to the ReLeashed Rescue family! 💕 FiFi came was an owner surrender to a very high-intake shelter after her owner could no longer care for her. We also learned she had previously been adopted from another shelter two counties over… so this isn’t her first time having her world turned upside down. 💔 Imagine the confusion and heartbreak when animal control showed up and took her from the only home she knew. Despite all of that, FiFi has the MOST loving, forgiving heart. Here’s what we’ve learned about this amazing girl so far:🐾 Total LOVE BUG – she just wants to be close to her people🐾 Friendly with everyone she meets (humans AND dogs!)🐾 Knows how to sit🐾 Potty trained & crate trained 🙌🐾 Heartworm NEGATIVE 💪🐾 When she gets excited, she spins in circles like a little tornado 🌪️ (it’s the cutest thing ever!)🐾 Coming in at a little over 70 lbs 🥴 – she could benefit from a few walks, so if you need a walking buddy… she’s your girl! FiFi is a beautiful husky/Australian shepherd mix with so much love to give. All she wants is a TRUE forever home where she will never have to wonder what’s next again. If you’re ready for a loyal, goofy, affectionate best friend who will give you her whole heart… FiFi is waiting for you. ❤️ 📩 Message us if you’re interested in adopting this special girl!

Story
Meet Thunda — your future adventure buddy and part-time zoomies champion! I’m a 3-month-old Border Collie mix with an easy going personality packed into an adorable wiggly body. One minute I’m zooming around the yard like a rocket, and the next I’m ready to curl up and recharge for my next round of fun. I absolutely love being outside, whether I’m exploring, running, or just enjoying the fresh air! I’m still learning how this whole “being a dog” thing works, so I’d love a home with a young, energetic dog who can show me the ropes and be my partner in playtime and mischief. I’m smart, curious, and always ready to learn—especially if treats are involved! If you’re looking for a playful, lovable pup who will keep life exciting and fill your home with laughter, I’m your guy. Adopt me, and let’s make every day an adventure! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Ziggy is a handsome Border Collie who is about a year old and weighs 27.18 pounds. This sweet and sensitive boy is still learning about the world and is looking for a patient, experienced home to help him grow into his full potential. Ziggy can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar surroundings, so he’ll need an understanding adopter who will give him time to build confidence at his own pace. Despite his timid side, he is incredibly sweet and eager to connect once he feels safe. He absolutely loves to play and has a naturally curious personality, always interested in what’s going on around him. Like many Border Collies, Ziggy is super smart and will thrive with positive reinforcement, structure, and continued training. He is housetrained. Ziggy would greatly benefit from having another confident, friendly dog in the home to help guide him and boost his confidence. A securely fenced yard is required so he can safely explore and burn off energy. He is still learning how to walk on a leash and navigate new experiences, so continued patience and training will be key to his success. Ziggy is a wonderful dog with so much potential—he just needs the right person to help him feel safe and understood. With time, love, and consistency, he will make a loyal and loving companion. Ziggy is approximately 1 year old (est. birth date 02/09/2025), and his adoption fee is $510. Ziggy has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Ziggy, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
