Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.handsome fluffy guy ISO home! TRIGGER NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Trigger       Best Guess for Breed:   Australian shepherd and Bernese Mountain Dog mix Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of November 2024   Gender:  Male Approximate Weight:   50 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to come up after completing heartworm treatment Special Adoption Considerations: Trigger is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Trigger is Looking For: His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this fluffy sweetie ended up in the shelter. He's eagerly looking forward to once again having his own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up.    Trigger has those soulful eyes that suck you in and he is such a huggable floof - he's got that solid presence. And he promises to always keep that solid presence right by your side - he wants nothing more than to be a loyal companion and know he's safe and loved in exchange. What do you say? Is he the one for your home and your heart? Story
Zuli is a 4 year old pure bred Australian Shepherd. He is very sweet and loving, always licking everyone to show affection, always up for a walk, and always wanting to be petted. He also is incredibly food oriented and smart, and we have done some training with him. However, he is also very anxious and afraid. We got him because he bit his previous owner (a relative of mine). We would keep him but we have a baby and there have been enough minor incidents (no further biting, though, I can explain more if we move further in this process) that I am not comfortable with him being around our baby when he is a few years older and running around our home full of energy or having friends over that Zuli is not familiar with. He needs an experienced dog owner who understands how to redirect reactive dogs and is willing to put in the time to exercise him and love him. He will love you 10000x more than you love him and it breaks our hearts to do this, but our son's safety is our priority.

Story
Meet our new Critter Cavalry beauty, Amazing Astrid! She is a 6 month old, purebred, Australian Shepherd girl who weighs 30 lbs and is seeking an Australian Shepherd savvy family with a fenced yard. She thought she had found her fur-ever home, but it didn't go as planned. Her parents were older and they wanted to get an Aussie puppy after their last one passed away from old age.  Unfortunately Astrid had quite a bit more energy than they could handle. What is even more unfortunate is that she accidentally got under her human mom's feet and caused her to fall, breaking her arm in three places. It was soon apparent that they were not suited at their age for such a young and vibrant puppy. They lovingly released her to Critter Cavalry foster care and we are now seeking a younger more appropriate family and home. She was on a farm with chickens, ducks, and goats and does well with all of them. She also gets along with cats, other dogs, and children. Her Foster's children have fallen in love with her, the 5 year old declared, 'She is the best dog I have ever met.' He really likes how she shows him affection and attention but doesn't jump on him and overwhelm him.  If you are interested in this sweet pup contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 7, 2024, 10:11 pm

Story
This boy is a handsome young 18 month, 45 lbs. bobtail  Australian Shepherd called Ruger that needs an Aussie savvy home!  As you can see he has an outgoing smile and has so much personality and the ability to get along with everyone.  He has a happy and winning temperament and we were baffled at how he landed in the small TN shelter we took him from. He is a rich, handsome chestnut and white color and a soft and wavy coat. If you can help this boy find a forever home, Critter Cavalry Rescue is behind you all the way. Story
Sweet Skye Man has come to us as one of three Aussie mix older pups that are still impressionably young at just 8 months and 19 pounds. This handsome, yet shy boy, is looking for a family that will fill his soul with love and affirmation and confidence building lessons every day. He and his siblings were raised in an outdoor kennel with little to no love and attention. They were merely fed, but yet eventually were released to our Critter Cavalry Rescue foster mom.  Skye Man  is a sponge for life lessons and he is so receptive to human touch and love.  He is the smaller pup from his litter of three that we have in our care now. He is comfortable in a crate, but needs leash training.  There's so many exciting experiences and a wonderful family waiting for him out there. All he needs to have is the moment he is discovered and someone contacts Critter Cavalry rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to ask if they can adopt him. We know that day is coming soon. He is fully vetted and neutered and ready to hop on the van to the home in the Northeast region or to just merely meet a new family in Tennessee where he resides currently. If you were interested please email us at the address we just gave.  Be sure to let us know where you live, city and state. We will be quickly responsive.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm
