Story
Available In Old Lyme, CT This very handsome dude is Kumo! He is currently in a board/train facility in CT. He is a 2 year old energetic boy. After working with him I have learned that the best place for him would be a place with no children or other animals and an area that will have a fenced in yard with a calm area neighborhood. Kumo is a young energetic dog that loves to eat. Kumo knows his basic commands and tries to push the envelope when it come to wait and stay. When he relaxing he would prefer to be left alone. Kumo enjoys his chew toys. Kumo needs time to warm up to new people. He likes to be asked to do something over being pushed physically. Kumo will go far in the right home. He wants to work and be loved. Kumo likes to walk, jog, snuggle and get lots of pets. He is high energy with a big appetite. Kumo is neutered, current on immunizations, housebroken and on preventatives. If you think this boy is a good fit for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts. Disclosure: Kumo has a bite history, however he has been in a board/train facility for a few months and the trainer has seen no sign of this behavior.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Franklin, MA Gadget is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 44 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Gadget is good with kids and cats! No dogs, due to his reactivity! He is housebroken and crate-trained. Gadget nipped the owner’s boyfriend’s 9 year old daughter. This occurred when she fought with her younger sister and he tried to herd her away from her sister. The owner is surrendering him because of this bite incident. He is also very territorial/protective when he is around the owner and nips people who try to get close to her. They are unable to provide the training that he needs. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Gadget, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Gadget. Owner’s Contact Information: Grace gretchen611@gmail.com

Story
Say hello to Duke!! He is an approx 3 year old Australian Shepherd that is the sweetest love bug ever! He loves dogs, cats, people, everything! His downfall is he will clear any fence and will come when he wants to. He is trained on invisible fence, however, and is very good with that! He will not escape a fence if you are in the yard with him but he just wants to be with his people so he will escape if left alone. Duke loves to play with other dogs and will do best in a home with a fun furry playmate. He would love an active family that will take him on adventures and let him snuggle with them at the end of the day. He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area. If you are interested in Duke please submit an application to be considered.

Story
Nova is an 8 month old Aussie/Border Collie. She is looking for a job to keep her busy. She never lived in a house, was never on a leash or had a collar on. She was surrendered to Animal Control due to the fact they just left her run all over and were going to be facing tickets due to leash laws and dog running at large. She is somewhat timid, but is being a good girl in the house and learning manners. She is housebroke using a doggie door. She gets along with the other dogs, but would recommend no small dogs because she wants to boss them around. She has the tendency to be jealous of other dogs getting your attention. And a fenced yard so she can run & play with balls & frisbees. She is a smart dog, just needs the right person to bring her best out of her. She sleeps beside the human bed at night and doesn't make a peep. She has taken a liken to the man of the house so might be a good companion to a male that likes to do outside activities like hiking, 4 wheeling, and so many options she would be up too. Nova Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
