Story
**COCO - a victim of the war in Israel. Although outside our usual mission, we are compelled to help with her rescue to safety. Coco’s transportation costs are being sponsored by her rescuer in Israel. ID/NAME: DV24-016 / Coco SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Female/45lbs/11months BIRTH DATE: 9/30/23 BREED: Australian Shepherd Mix VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER: Up-to-date vaccinations, spayed and overall healthy Hi! My name is Coco, and I am waiting to be adopted by my forever family! My siblings and I were born in Israel and found huddled together, living in terror shortly after the war started. A rescuer brought us into her home where we found love and safety. She saw that I had been injured and took me to a vet who determined that my left hind leg needed to be amputated. Thankfully, I have fully recovered and am very healthy. One by one, my siblings found their forever homes. All except me. I am told because I am missing a leg, it will take a little longer to find that special person to adopt me even though I recovered so well and have no complications! The veterinarian says nothing is wrong with my back leg and that many tripod dogs live happy lively lives. You should see me run and play with other dogs!! I am patiently waiting for my forever family. I know you’re out there. Will you be that special person for me? I would love to be free from the sounds of loud sirens and rockets. Lately, there have been many rocket blasts where my foster and I live. When we hear a siren, my foster has to quickly run to the nearest shelter for safety. She has two senior dogs of her own, so it is hard for her to take me as a third dog. I begin to tremble when I hear that sound and see her worried face as she closes the door, leaving me alone. I am in a complete panic when she returns. My foster always patiently calms me and tells me everything will be ok. And then it happens again and again….. Behaviour: Coco is very friendly, she lives here with two other dogs and a cat. Her rescuer has taken her to a trainer for the last 4 months. Coco is house-trained and walks well on a leash. She also knows how to sit, lay, and give a paw. Because she has to rely on her three legs, she will need a home where she is not expected to go on extended hikes. Coco is mostly quiet around the house but playful with the other dogs and kids. ********************************* DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and our adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form

Story
She is about 3 years old. She is quite intelligent and can be taught new tricks. Gets very vocal when you tease her, and gets excited when going for a walk. She is very, VERY shy and timid when meeting new people, but once she knows you, she becomes sweet - same with kids. Meeting other new dogs may be a challenge, as she hasnt been socially trained to meet new dogs. She does bark at seeing wild animals or strangers, and can be very alert. She has a very quirky, playful, energetic, and sweet personality. She loves to give affection. Very sad to let her go, but I cannot take her to my new apartment.

Story
Meet Doodle! Doodle is a 7-year-old mini-Australian shepherd. He is a super smart, funny and loving dog but he is not for the first-time dog owner. True to his breed, he has a very high herding instinct and is protective of his home. He is also very obedient, knows all his commands, is potty-trained, crate trained, and absolutely can't get enough attention from his person. He requires a lot of exercise (just a walk isn't enough), so he'll need an active owner who will run with him, hike with him, and take him on adventures. Doodle would do great in agility or herding activities. He can be reactive with larger dogs so we are looking for a home without a resident dog over 20 lbs. but he does get along well with small dogs and cats (although he does like to herd them when he gets excited). In his foster home, Doodle lives with four other dogs and two cats. He does really well with the established boundaries in his foster home and flourishes when he knows the rules and what's expected of him. In addition to regular exercise, his foster mom gives him puzzles, interactive toys and lick mats that help to keep him mentally stimulated. He is a great guard dog and very protective so he can be reactive to visitors in his home. Doodle is also selective with who he likes and tends to favor women over men so introductions to new people must be done slowly and with care. Doodle is a medium size dog, weighing in at 35 lbs., is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines. He is an amazing guy and we know his perfect home is out there. Doodle is looking for a quite home with no children where he would prefer to be the only dog. He needs an owner who has owned a herding breed before and is up for the challenge of owning a high energy, intelligent dog. Is it you?

Story
Please note that we are ONLY accepting applications from homes with at least one calm dog for Luke. To be successful, I must have the following: •A caring, calm owner • A back yard would be ideal • Another dog for Luke to play with • A crate to sleep in• A doggie door Additionally, a backyard fance that is higher than 6 feet. Hi, I’m Luke! I’m a shy, adorable boy, who will become your best friend once I get used to my new home. My favorite things are another dog to show me around the place, quiet walks with my pack, resting on a nice comfy dog bed, and playing with my friends.I’ve been in training recently and have learned so much! I walk nicely on a leash, can walk on a treadmill, speak doggie door, have excellent house manners, don’t help myself to furniture, take treats gently, ride nicely in a car, and I like to chase balls but don’t bring them back. I am told I’m an excellent companion, I’m not sure what that means, but I do love my trainer. I’m sure I will love you too; I just may need a little time to adjust to my new surroundings.I like to sleep in a crate at night, and hope you will follow some of my trainer’s suggestions. I am not the best with change, so a calm dog in the household, who can show me the ropes, is a must. I will thrive in an adult-only household with consistency, regular exercise, and no cats. I don’t like strangers and would prefer not to be in places with many people. I’m shy, remember? I should also share that I’m on meds for anxiety; no shame here, that are helping me to feel so much better! https://www.muchlove.org/animals/luke
