Story
Romee has a very fear based personality, but getting to know him is definitely worth it! He is a Velcro dog who needs constant attention and absolutely loves cuddles. Hes fairly decent at walks but it does get hard when he spots any dogs, people are not as bad. He can be very silly and loves to play. He has been around both children and cats, he does fairly well around them. Romee will definitely take a while to adjust to a new home. Sadly we don’t have the time to work on his behavior issues and overall our home is small for him. we are looking for a home that will take time to not only understand him but will have time and patience for him as well as a yard. He has dog fear aggression as well as people fear aggression. If you are interested a meet up is a must beforehand for agreements.

Story
Bluebell is a happy adventurous girl ready to go anywhere with you! As an almost 4 year old Aussie/Border Collie mix, she is energetic, curious and very intelligent. She would do best with an active family who is interested in teaching her tricks and playing puppy games. Bluebell has lived with cats and gets along with them well but does want to play with them. A confident cat would make a much better sibling than a shy one. Bluebell loves other dogs but can become overstimulated during play dates. She would most likely adjust well to a doggy sibling she can get used to but needs close supervision at dog parks or on doggy play dates with new dogs. Bluebell will come with all her doggy gear including a crate, toys, leash and harness. Shes a very good dog, I unfortunately just do not have the time to give her the love and attention she deserves. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. Thank you!

Story
Roxy is an Australian Shepard Mix. I'm fostering her currently, she's 45 lbs at one year old. She was adopted from the Milpitas Shelter as a puppy. Original owner took ill and can no longer care for her. Roxy needs a forever home with a yard (she uses a doggie door for indoor/outdoor living). Loves to be around people, other dogs and friendly with cats too. Roxy is full of energy. I have two senior dogs and unfortunately can't keep her.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, September 21st, 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $700   Apple Cider is a 9 month old Aussie-Bernie mix who is ready to spice up your life! Cider was rescued from the shelter by one of our volunteers. We don’t know how this handsome dude landed behind bars, but we know his journey ahead is as bright as the sun! We expect Cider to be in the 60-70 pound range as a full grown adult, as he currently weighs 53 pounds. Prepare for a “dog who is a little too big to be a lapdog but who doesn’t believe us when we tell him that!” Serve yourself a glass of the sweetest dog ever today!       Apple Cider is a goofy dude with a tail that would never stop wagging if he had one (he has a docked tail) and a smile that never leaves his face. He loves being near his people, but he makes best friends in seconds of meeting new people as well! He wins over even the most dog-skeptical humans. Apple loves his walks and is the perfect size for adventures. Whether you’re strolling through a pumpkin patch, camping under the stars, or heading to the park, Cider is ready to join you! Apple is great with other dogs and loves getting his zoomies on. However, he’s also just as content to lounge the hours away. As long as his people are in his sights, he is happy! Apple Cider is so sweet and loves affection, but is also such a happy and content guy. As long as you give him a walk he is just thrilled. Cider would thrive in a home with an active human or other dog as he has tons of energy. He’d be an amazing running buddy! He’d probably actually encourage you to hit the trails more often, and who doesn’t need a buddy boost.  Apple Cider starts his day when his foster people do, between 7 and 8 AM. He starts with breakfast and then wags his tail until he heads out on his morning walk. He loves long strolls in the hills as he greets his various furry friends. During the day, Cider hangs out around the house, always wanting to be where his people are and where the action is. In the evening, Cider gets a second walk around the neighborhood and then comes home for dinner and a treat. Meals are his favorite times of the day, this dude loves to eat! After dinner, Cider does his best to make himself a lap dog, soaking up all the cuddles and snuggles he can. Around 9 PM, he goes out for one last potty break before he settles in for the night on his dog bed.  Apple Cider gets along fabulously with dogs of all ages. He would love a playmate in his forever home whether canine or human. Cider would benefit from training as he has tons of puppy energy. He needs a home that will set boundaries and commit to a training plan with him to improve upon some of his puppy naughtiness. Cider happily embarks on his walks but needs some additional correction as he sets out. Cider is such a friendly and good boy. He will be so loved and will shower you in that love right back. You’ll never enter a room without seeing his wagging tail and his bright smile again!      Apple Cider is an option for those with prior dog experience. Interested homes should be ready for an active dog. Kids in the home should be teens or older.November 16, 2024, 3:57 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Honey was rescued from the shelter where she was surrendered for reasons unknown. This fluffy gal needed a hero and we swooped her up, promising a lifetime of cuddles and yummy snacks! Honey weighs 17 pounds currently, and we expect she will be a medium sized dog when she reaches her adult weight. We will be looking for homes prepared for all that comes with large breed puppyhood. Ready for the sweetest new best friend? Come on down and reserve your Honey Baked Ham for the holidays!      Honey is a playful, young bundle of energy who lights up every room she enters. She is always ready for a game of fetch or a spirited run around the house. Honey has an out of this world enthusiasm for life, and she makes your day better just by wagging her tail into it. She’s the perfect blend of energy, ready for a hike during the day but also a total sweetheart who adores cuddling up on the couch for some quality snuggle time at the end of the day. Honey thrives on attention and loves being the center of it, charming everyone with her wagging tail and bright eyes. While she’s still learning the ropes of doghood, she prances through life on her uncoordinated legs without a care in the world. She’s happiest when she has a toy in her mouth and someone to share her adventures with. We expect she will be the perfect companion for all the hikes, camping trips, kayaking adventures, or trips under the stars you have planned! This little ball of love and fun can’t wait to bounce into your life and make it so much better than you ever imagined!  Honey wakes up around 7 AM and heads to the backyard to work on her potty skills. She eats three times a day: 9 AM, 2 PM, and 7 PM, with lots of training snacks in between meals. During the day, she alternates between zooming around, getting her cuddles, and snoozing on the couch. She’s always ready to pop up and zoom after a toy if she hears a squeak, even if she’s completely zonked out. Once her foster mom finishes her workday, she soaks up all the love and cuddles she can until dinner. She has lots of snuggles on the couch as she starts to unwind from the day. After one last potty session outside, she heads into her crate at 10 PM.  Honey has lived with dogs of various ages and sizes. She would love a playful companion in her forever home but would also fly perfectly fine solo. She adores humans and can’t wait to charm her new people, but would probably be better with slightly sturdier-aged children. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss their plans for continued training and socialization to ensure she is a well-rounded adult. Ready for sweetness? Adopt Honey!       Honey is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last five years. Kids should be over the age of 9.November 18, 2024, 5:32 pm

Snow is a 3 year old border collie mix and has a sweet, silly, and very playful personality! Snow is a super active dog, she loves going to the park, playing fetch with her favorite ball, and gets along well with other dogs ( loves to chase and be chased). When you come home don’t be surprised if she brings you a toy to play! When it’s time to relax and unwind, you can bet Snow will be right by your side. We are looking for a new home for her due to issues with our landlord. We hope that her new home gives her the love, attention, and care she deserves. She’s an absolute love bug at heart, and the sweetest companion that will always be by your side. Snow has gone through a fair amount of training (basic and advanced training at Petco, certifications will be provided) and knows commands such as: sit, wait, down, leave it, heel, shake. We hope her new home gives her as much love as she has to offer! 🩷
