*Courtesy Post* (San Diego) This is Blue, he is an 8 year old neutered male. He is crate trained, and potty trained. He is a big lover, however very protective of his home and an alpha dog. He seems to have some anxiety/stress due to the foot traffic constantly passing his current home situation. He would be best in a home with a yard, and no other dogs. He is a super loyal dog, and does well in the car. Loves walks, and tug a war. If interested please contact Kim at (760)310-0325 kdietrich714@gmail.comNovember 4, 2024, 4:09 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forever Home Wanted: Meet Rooney!! Rooney is a 11 year old Australian Shepherd mix who was surrendered to us when his family was going through a tough patch and could no longer keep him. Rooney is an active senior who loves longer walks, car rides, toys, fetch and all things involving water.  Rooney is good on the leash, has basic training and is house broken.  He does not have any known medical issues but could probably slim down a bit.  Rooney is great with people and kids.  In his younger days he went to dog parks regularly but as a senior he’s no longer a fan of wild young dog play so he’d prefer either a home where he is your one and only or a home with another more chill and calm dog.  He has recently developed some separation anxiety due to his current family situation so a home where his people are around more often than not would be best for him.  If Rooney sounds like the right dog for your home, Email labradorsandfriends@yahoo.com or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org. Rooney is located in Southern California.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 18, 2025, 3:33 pm

Cooper is sadly available because his pawrent died and his family cannot keep him because he does not do well with very small children. Cooper is in excellent health. A sweet boy with medium energy, he’s whip smart and enjoys activity with his humans. He loves snuggles, and his own space sometimes. He will rest on your feet when you need to get work done, but is ready to play when you are. Cooper is good with basic commands. He’s good on a leash and just came off a board and train where he worked on leash walking and other basic commands. Caution: he can open most doors and child gates. He also can jump over some child gates. Favorite Activities: Cooper loves to play fetch on land or in the pool. He loves a good snuggleand will even try to climb up in your lap. He loves a good game of chase walks and to be told how beautiful he is. You You can just see it in his eyes. Looking for: Cooper will do best in a home without small children or cats.

Story
Max is the dog on the left in this photo, the black and tan. She is a beautiful young girl who was initially rescued as a small puppy with her family from a farm in the Central Valley where they were abandoned. She has been living with a foster and now she needs to find her forever family. She is very sweet, very playful, has lots of energy, and loves her people. She is dog friendly, not sure about cats. She'd be a great dog for an active person or family. She will need a decent sized yard to run around in, and some practice going on walks, since her current caregiver hasn't taken her on walks. She is good about going in her crate when she is told. She will need to be spayed, but is up to date on all vaccinations and is in perfect health. Please contact me at cmiller927@cox.net if interested in this girl, thank you!! **I'm having trouble getting her photo on here for some reason, but I can text or email you her photo --

Story
Rio’s personality is typical for Aussies: enthusiastic, energetic, happy. He loves physical activity, whether it’s long leashed walks, unleashed beach time, or playing fetch and his desired activity level is normal. He is exceedingly agile and quick, and would probably excel at agility, especially with his high focus on his person. Rio currently lives in a busy condo development and becomes anxious with all of the happenings around him, which triggers his barking. He is otherwise super sweet, cuddly and playful. Rio needs a quiet environment, preferably with a yard. He does need a moment or two to warm up to strangers. Rio enjoys his walks but may bark if frightened by an E-bike or skateboarder. Rio has been great with dogs his size and plays with, and grooms, his cat sibling. He loves playing ball and will actually toss it back to you! Rio is a "Velcro" boy loves to follow his people around and to cuddle.

Story
Kristi is a Australian Shepherd Mix. Her estimated date of birth is 8/20/2015 and she weighs 40 lbs. She is up to date on all of her shots and she is fixed. Kristi is OK with people that she knows but is not good with new people. She is better suited for a home that has no cats, no kids or other dogs or small animals.  Kristi does like to vocalize and would be best in a house as she needs a lot of space to run around. Kristi is not good alone and does need someone she can trust to be her side most of the time. Kristi requires a very special diet and does not tolerate prepackaged dog food well. She has some minor skin issues that do require weekly medication.  She has a very high energy level and would require exercise on a daily basis for at least 1 hour otherwise she has the tendency to be destructive to items.  Kristi does have some issues on a a leash and has a small problem with marking in homes. We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Story
A great companion! Hi, friends! My name is Alonso, and I’ve come all the way from Tijuana to find my furever home!   I’m a 7 year old old Border Collie mix male, who weighs 45 pounds.  I’m potty-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained, and I’ve already been neutered, too.  As far as my health goes, I’m on Royal Canin Vet Diet Adult Gastrointentinal Low Fat Dry dog to help manage my kidney issues.  I also have limited vision in my right eye and am blind in my left eye, so I am currently on Prednisone acetate, which costs ~$20 a bottle, depending on the market value and where it is purchased and Optixcare Plus lubricant,  (~$15 a tube, depending on the market value and where it is purchased). I also take Telmisartan to manage my high blood pressure (~$15.00 for 3 month supply, depending on market value and where purchased).   I’m the sweetest boy! I love my humans and to be spoiled by them.  My favorite activities include cuddling on the couch, sun-bathing in the yard, napping during the day, getting belly rubs, and going for car rides and walks in the neighborhood.  I’m generally a pretty mellow type of guy, but I do get zoomies in the backyard, and I like to play fetch, too.  Although I love having company, I also do fine on my own with very little signs of separation anxiety. I’d prefer to be the only animal in the home since I don’t do well around other doggies or kitties.  Older kids (eight and older), though, would be a great fit for me. Basically, as long as I have plenty of time around my people, I will thrive be my best self! "The Animal Pad recognizes that taking in a new dog can pose a challenge to the entire family. Alonso’s adoption package includes a FREE four-week scholarship with our partner Goodpup (https://goodpup.com/). Goodpup offers virtual, individualized training to ensure you, your dog, and your family have the skills needed to thrive together. GoodPup Scholarships include: 4+ weeks of positive reinforcement training 24/7 chat for questions and support Access to a behavior team to assist in advanced cases" Do I sound like two paws up to you? If so, my adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.   ##1495460##

Story
Tommy is a cute and cuddly little boy with an eternally cute face. He was found on the streets with a tumor about 5.5" in diameter in his belly. He lasted a year in treatment with chemotherapy and medication and needed surgery to remove the remaining encapsulated mass. In addition to needing special food to break up a stone bladder, he has ultrasounds to make sure he don't get sediment in his bladder every three months. He is currently a healthy, happy, loving and tender dog. He is very loyal and protective, intelligent and playful. He don't get along well with alpha male dogs, but plays well with puppies and females. He is sociable with children and adults. Tommy is a Border collie mix, and is smaller than a Border collie. When you talk to him he makes a cute and cuddly face, ducks his head and rolls his eyes upwards, I think he knows he is cute and takes advantage of that. Tommy is a dog to spoil, to cuddle and to give him lots of love, since his first family didn't give him all he deserved. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego
