Story
Meet Boba, the wonderdog! Boba is just under a year old and is the epitome of a happy-go-lucky boy. He has been through so much but has remained such a ray of sunshine who loves everyone he meets. The word "stranger" isn't in Boba's vocabulary, instead, he sees everyone as a potential new BFF. Boba has blown us away with his resilience and love of life and we can't wait to see what his future holds. Boba likely is fully grown and weighs about 41lbs. Due to being a tripod, his new family will need to ensure he stays slim to avoid any unnecessary weight on his front leg. Boba came to us from a local shelter when his previous family surrendered him after he came into the shelter as a stray. He was found with a broken leg that had healed incorrectly and it was determined that the best thing was to have the leg amputated. Boba has adjusted very well to being on three legs and doesn't let it stop him from doing lots of zoomies. Boba is the perfect mix of cuddly and active and is pretty much happy to do whatever as long as he can be by your side. His favorite activities include tug-of-war, playing tag with his foster sister, or throwing a toy around for himself to play with. He is an expert cuddler and is happy to lay his entire body on top of you for nap time. Boba radiates happiness and it's pretty impossible not to have a smile on your face when he's around. Boba has been doing great with his basic manners but is still a puppy who can get mouthy when excited. He also isn't afraid to vocalize when he wants attention or someone to play with him. He would benefit from some continued training to help him be the best boy he can be. Boba has done get with all the dogs he has met and would be a great buddy for someone looking for a playmate for their active pup. His best friend is a little chihuahua/terrier mix and he has done great mellowing his playstyle to match hers. Due to his puppy antics, he probably wouldn't be a good fit to live with an older dog unless there was another active dog for him to play with. Boba has done well with dog-savvy cats but does think it's a fun game to chase them if they run. He likely could do well living with confident cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Boba has also done well co-existing with the chickens in his foster home. Boba could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 10 years or older. Boba has been doing great with his house and crate training. He sleeps in his crate at night and has done well being left home alone in his crate for a few hours at a time. Since he is so people-oriented, he would do best with a family who doesn't have to leave him alone often or for long. Boba has done well living in an apartment with plenty of daily exercise. Boba was born with a heart defect called  pulmonary stenosis. He was evaluated at UC Davis and had a procedure called a balloon valvuloplasty done. Boba recovered very well from the procedure and the cardiologist thinks he has a very high chance of living a normal life post-op. Boba will need to continue to receive twice daily medication for his heart until he is reevaluated in 3 months. He will need yearly check-ups with a cardiologist for the rest of his life to ensure his heart remains healthy. He will never be a doggie athlete, but he can live a life full of adventure and can still do normal activities like running and playing. Boba is such an amazing dog and we have all fallen head over heels in love with him. We know his perfect family is out there! If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Boba's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. Story
Watch out world, here come Phoebe! Phoebe is estimated to be about 2.5 months old and is an adorable girl who can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! She would thrive with an active family who has the time to dedicate to keep her days full of fun and enrichment. Phoebe currently weighs around 9lbs. Her mom weighs around 35lbs and her suspected dad weighs around 50lbs. She and her siblings are super mutts, but we think they will be medium-sized when fully grown based on their parents' sizes. Phoebe came to us from another rescue, BONES Pet Rescue, in Covelo, CA. BONES works with the stray and feral dogs in the area to get the puppies to other rescues and gets the parents spayed/neutered and adopted. They reached out needing rescue placement for two litters of puppies. We were able to take a little or four (Robin, Drake, Jay, and Phoebe) and a puppy from the larger litter (Mapgpie) and the rest went to other local rescues. These kiddos are looking for individual homes so they can get the one-on-one attention they need. Phoebe is the tomboy of the group. She is the first to initiate playtime and she loves nothing more than to make new friends to play with. She is still learning all her basic manners, so needs a family committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is used to a life outside, so needs a family who can be patient with her as she adjusts to the indoor life. Phoebe has done great living with other dogs and we think she would love to have a playful pup to live with so she always has someone to wrestle with. She also seems like she could do well as an only pup with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. We haven't seen Phoebe around cats, but she is young enough that she could do well learning how to be respectful of cats. Phoebe could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years or older. Phoebe is still working on her house and crate training, so her new family will need to be patient with her and expect accidents. She would do best with a family who has a schedule that will allow them to slowly acclimate her to being home alone. Phoebe can't wait to be your new best friend! If she sounds like the girl for you, submit an adoption application today!   Phoebe's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website  (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. Story
Robin is as sweet as puppies come! Robin is estimated to be about 2.5 months old and is a darling girl who can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! She appears to be the runt of the litter, but she can definitely hold her own when wrestling with her siblings. She would thrive with an active family who has the time to dedicate to keep her days full of fun and enrichment. Robin currently weighs around 8lbs. Her mom weighs around 35lbs and her suspected dad weighs around 50lbs. She and her siblings are super mutts, but we think they will be medium-sized when fully grown based on their parents' sizes. She is used to a life outside, so needs a family who can be patient with her as she adjusts to the indoor life. Story
**** COURTESY POST - DOG IS NOT AT THE SHELTER **** Milo is a 1-year-old Australian-German Shepherd mix who’s full of energy and potential. This handsome, large pup is up to date on all his vaccines, potty trained, and crate trained. As much as his current family loves him, they feel he deserves more than they can offer due to health challenges, a lack of yard space, and a busy schedule. Milo is a friendly inside dog who has lived with dogs, cats, and kids. He’s great with his furry and human companions, though he enjoys chasing cats (but doesn’t harm them). He’s known to “demand bark” for attention and needs someone who can provide him with the exercise, socialization, and playtime he craves—ideally with a yard to run in. He’s protective and would thrive with an active owner who has time for him. If you have the space and energy to keep up with Milo’s playful spirit, please contact his family. To learn more, reach out to Christina (916) 912-9953 Email christinarisso@yahoo.com All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Hi 🐶 This is scout! As you can see there is no fee because I can care less for any money. I just want Scout to go to a loving home, with lots of space for him to run around. He’s a great workout buddy if you like to go on walks, hikes & runs. He’s a big fluffy boy who loves to cuddle & loves car rides. I will provide you with all of his favorite things. Scout deserves more that I can’t provide and hope I can find him a home that can offer those things. 🩷

Story
We purchased Blu from a breeder back in May 2024. He was and is a very sweet dog. But due to our housing situation we have no room for him. He needs a yard and a place to run around. He likes other dogs but sometimes can be overbearing to them because all he wants to do is play. Very energetic and always down to play. For us we are expecting our first baby and have no time for him sadly. And we would like to find owners that can and will have that time for him as he deserves.

These pups are in Davis, California too!

Story
Fizz the Fuzz is ready to be your adventure buddy! Periwinkle (affectionately nicknamed Fizz) is estimated to be about a year old and has the perfect amount of energy to motivate you to go out on an adventure and to also convince you to spend the morning cuddled in bed together. She is as sweet as can be and has quickly stolen our hearts with her ray-of-sunshine personality. She has an infectious smile and makes sure there is never a dull moment when she is around. Fizz currently weighs around 45lbs. She is fully grown but may fill out a little more. Fizz came to us from a shelter in Central California after she was found as a stray. She waited a month there to be adopted and then found herself on the euthanasia list due to a lack of space at the overcrowded shelter. We are so grateful one of our foster families stepped up to take her in and we have been in love with her ever since. Fizz is a happy and curious girl who loves a good outdoor exploration. She loves to be out and about and makes friends everywhere she goes. She would make a great brewery and hiking buddy. She loves to play and is the goofiest girl when she finds a toy she really likes. She also is smart and eager to learn, especially if a tasty treat is involved. Fizz seems to have had some training in her previous life but would benefit from continuing to work on her basic manners to help her be the best girl she can be. Fizz loves other dogs and would be a great playmate for an active medium/large dog. She also could do well as an only dog if she has lots of opportunities to make dog friends. She hasn't been to a dog park, but she seems like she could do well as a dog park/doggie daycare dog. Fizz thinks cats are a little too fun to chase and would do best in a kitty-free home. Fizz could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years or older. Fizz has been doing great with her house and crate training. She may whine a little when she first goes in her crate but sleeps through the night well and is happy to hang out in there when her foster family is gone. Fizz has done well being home alone for short periods. Due to her enthusiastic personality, she would do best living in a home with a yard and with an active family. Fizz is so deserving of the best home and we know it is out there. If you think that could be you, submit an adoption application today!   Fizz's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application.
