Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Little Rock, AR Meet Biscuit! He is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix and weighs 65 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Biscuit is nervous around strangers! He hasn’t been tested around children or cats. He is hostile towards the dog in the home, but is good with dogs outside of the home. Biscuit loves playing fetch! The owner is surrendering him because he doesn’t get along with their older Daschund. They think he would do better in a home with larger dogs. He also exhibits some resource guarding. If you think you can provide a great home for Biscuit, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Biscuit. Owner’s Contact Information: Robert, treywetzel@gmail.com

Story
I've had Biscuit since he was 6 weeks old. Making the decision to rehome him has been incredibly heartbreaking but necessary. He is extremely playful & sweet. He takes his frisbee everywhere & begs everyone to throw it. The issues began when he was 2 yrs. old. I also own a senior dachshund. What began as minor tiffs has escalated into serious conflicts between the two. Due to size discrepancy, this has become a dangerous situation for my dachshund. The situation has slowly declined over the last 2 years, with the incidents only occurring inside the home while I’m present. He exhibits signs of resource guarding. However, he has always received fantastic reports when boarded or at doggy daycare. Staff has confirmed this, noting excellent behavior with other dogs at the facility. The issues seem to stem from his protective nature towards me & his home. I believe Biscuit would be happiest in a home without small children or small dogs; he may do well with larger dogs in a “pack” setting.
