Story
Dex is a handsome floof with a world-class head tilt and spectacular smile! He loves his outdoor romps and likes to chase toys. Bring them back? Not so much - but he's learning. Dex likes to have a person around more often then not, making him a perfect work-from-home friend. He prefers his dog friends be of the 'hanging out together' variety, not the 'in your face' variety.  ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  Feb 2021 ~  Intake weight:  38#  ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
Romeo is not just dreamy to look at, he has a lovely heart. This sweet guy is happy to cuddle the day away. He also enjoys a good meander around the yard or house. He isn't looking for crazy play sessions, but he might enjoy some training games if food is involved. He also shows signs of being housetrained. Romeo has not wanted to make dog friends at the shelter.  ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  Feb 2020 ~  Intake weight:  50#  ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
Mae and Myla are extremely smart and playful puppies!  They're your typical puppies who want to play, sleep, and play some more    When the owner of this litter of Australian shepherd puppies found themselves unable to continue providing the necessary care and attention these babies required, they made the responsible decision to reach out for help. Unfortunately,  they ended up placing 5 of the 7 puppies with new owners without properly vetting them or ensuring the puppies were receiving the proper medical treatment they desperately needed. Thankfully, the remaining two puppies and their mother were entrusted to Hootie’s Haven, where we were able to immediately address the severe health issues they were facing. These poor pups were in rough shape, infested with worms and other parasites that had gone untreated for far too long, leaving them malnourished, lethargic, and at serious risk. It was heartbreaking to see them huddled together in a flimsy cardboard box, struggling to stay warm in the bitter cold. Now that these two precious Australian shepherd pups are finally on the mend and their mama is feeling stronger, it's time to begin the search for their forever homes - homes that will provide them with the love, stability, and attentive care they deserve after such a difficult start to life. We are hopeful that the other 5 puppies have also found loving families, but we remain concerned about their wellbeing and wish we could have intervened sooner to ensure all 7 of these beautiful animals received the proper vetting and responsible rehoming process they were entitled to. ##2242785##

Story
Meet Maggie! Maggie is a 2 year old Aussie who is as loyal as you best friend! She loves snuggles, laying in the couch, and being with her person. Maggie is crate and house trained and she's great with other dogs and cats. She's a gentle soul, so she would be great around children, too. She's around 35-40 pounds of pure precious! Unfortunately, Maggie was surrendered to Hootie's along with 2 of her puppies.  Their surrender was of no fault of their own.  Their owner was arrested and the puppies were born while he was away.  ##2245829##
