Story
Meet Sky, the sweetest Aussie mix who truly embodies what it means to be a rescue dog.  Sky was a stray for the first few years of her life. She survived off very little; the roof over her head was literally the sky. She had multiple litters in the woods, and most of the puppies didn’t survive.  Her world completely changed when a foster learned about her situation and took in her and her single surviving puppy. Sky is approximately 3 years old now and looking for a forever home that will give her all the love she missed out on for the first part of her life.  Sky is a gem! She is truly amazing around all other dogs, and we’d prefer for her to have another dog in her forever home. She also loves children and cats. She can be a little shy around new people but will warm up quickly. She’s just a very calm, gentle dog.   Sky enjoys going for walks and is great on a leash. She is completely neutral to everything out in the world. She does have some impressive fence jumping skills, so a yard with a privacy fence would be preferable. But Sky isn’t a flight risk, so she won’t go far if she were to hop a fence.  Sky is truly a wonderful dog who would be forever grateful to the family that gives her a forever home.  If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Meet Magnolia (affectionately known as Maggie)! 🌸 Maggie is a beautiful Australian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees mix born at the end of July. She is a happy, active puppy with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. Maggie is a double merle and, because of this, she is deaf—but that certainly doesn’t slow her down or hold her back in life! Maggie is incredibly smart and a quick learner. She is eager to please and has already shown how capable she is at learning through consistency and positive reinforcement. We are looking for an adopter with experience with deaf dogs—or someone willing to learn—who is committed to training her using hand signals and providing the structure she needs to thrive. For her safety, Maggie will require a securely fenced yard. She absolutely adores playing with other dogs, and we feel she would do best in a home with a friendly canine companion to help her continue building confidence and burning off puppy energy. Maggie is doing wonderfully with house training and has mastered using the dog door. In a home without a dog door, she will just need a little extra guidance to continue her success. At night, she sleeps comfortably in a dog bed but is also crate-trained if needed. She walks well on a leash and is continuing to grow into a very well-rounded young lady. Maggie is expected to be a large dog, and due to her size, breed traits, and enthusiasm, she would do best in a home with older children. She is truly a special girl with so much potential, and her foster family is dedicated to finding the perfect forever home—one that will nurture her, support her unique needs, and help her continue her journey into a confident, successful pup. If you’re looking for a remarkable dog with a big heart and are ready to embrace something truly special, Maggie may be your perfect match. 💛🐾 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
✨ Meet Chelsea — Your Loyal Little Shadow ✨ Chelsea is a gorgeous 2-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix who is every bit as smart, loving, and devoted as her breed promises. At just 35 pounds, she’s the perfect “take-anywhere” size — small enough for adventures, yet sturdy enough to be a true companion. Chelsea is shy when first meeting new people and may take a little time to feel comfortable. With the right person who is willing to move at her pace and offer patience, trust, and love, she blossoms quickly. Within just a few days, she becomes a deeply devoted best friend who forms a strong bond with her person. Once Chelsea decides you’re her person, she loves with her whole heart. She’s very affectionate and prefers to sleep close to her people, thriving on companionship and connection. Chelsea is house trained and non-destructive in the home, making her an easy and respectful housemate. She loves car rides and loads perfectly when asked. Her favorite spot is perched on the center console so she can stay close to her human and watch all the action — the perfect co-pilot. She does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys attending doggie daycare, but at home Chelsea prefers one-on-one time with her person most of all. She would be very happy as an only dog, devoting her loyalty and affection fully to her family. Because of her adventurous spirit and active herding breed traits, Chelsea needs a securely fenced yard to safely explore and burn off energy. She would also do best with an adopter who has experience with Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, or similar working breeds, and who understands their needs for structure, engagement, and mental stimulation. Chelsea bonds deeply with her humans and does experience some separation anxiety, so her ideal home is one where someone works from home, has a flexible schedule, or enjoys including their dog in daily activities. She would do well with older, gentle children, but may be too energetic and herding-oriented for very young kids. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, devoted companion, and adventure partner, Chelsea is ready to give you her whole heart.
