Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Yozuri and her sister Yamaha were found when their foster parents were on a walk. The sisters came trotting out of the woods where they had been living in a cardboard box. They were vetted and fostered and adopted to a home.  Due to unforeseen circumstances that were not at all of her making, Yozuri finds herself back in the care of Save a Stray once again hoping for a forever home.  Yozuri is just happy about life. She is housetrained and crate trained. She gets along with everyone, loves toys, and playing fetch. Yozuri is smart, comes when called, and gives attention easily. She is a playful girl but also loves to snuggle. She is a delight to have around. This girl deserves a home to treat her like a princess.  If Yozuri sounds like the one for you and your lifestyle, please read info below regarding adopting. Save a Stray pets are in foster homes.  Please complete an application at www.saveastray.org to make arrangements to meet our pets.  Out of state meet and greets are conducted via FaceTime. This pet has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, and is on heartworm and flea prevention and has adoption fee of $175 (local) - $500 (depending on transport destination).  Thank you for considering adding a homeless pet to your family. Story
Almost 8 months old , he needs someone who is willing to be active and invest time . Sampson has been very easy to teach and picks up commands very well . He likes to run and play a lot. The home will need to be willing to put in a lot of effort if there are other animals as he does not care for smaller animals . He is very alert of his surrounds and will make you aware before you even know . He would best be fitted for being the only dog . He’s beyond smart , so alot of patience will be needed . I’m not sure how well he will learn to ride in car , I’ve only been able to take him a hand full of times due to him not liking my smaller senior dog and passing cars he presented signs of fear and ducked his head , that also has been worked on trying to make him aware that there is no reason to be scared . He loves all people and children . Also he is kennel trained and house trained .

Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! The shelter named this boy Ratso but we felt he was far too handsome for that and have renamed him Dexter. This cutie found himself at a local overcrowded shelter with a nasty abscess and a broken leg! He’s since had surgery and a splint and is now in his foster home recovering! This little mini Aussie boy is amazing. They don’t come much sweeter than him! He’s 2 years old and 13.5 lbs. He’s great with all size dogs and loves all people. He’s great in the house and craves any kind of attention you can give him. He will be in his splint for a few more weeks and will be adoption ready once he’s cleared for removal. He’s utd, hw tested and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! NEWBIE ALERT!! These sweet girls were surrendered when their family could no longer care for them! We assisted in getting parents altered who we are told are Aussie (mom) and black lab (dad). These girls are 12 weeks old and all weigh 9-11 lbs. They are spunky and playful. Full of life and personality. Highly socialized and will make wonderful family additions. They are utd, dewormed and spayed. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter!
