Story
he has been a very sweet boy, we have to rehome him due to the new baby coming and no time for two pets. He is very quiet and most time just sleeping, he also plays here and there, like long walk. He is leash trained. Knows basic commands like sit, stay, down, go, etc. he can stay at home up to 6 hours alone, but you need to hide food from reachable places from him. He is good with dogs at the daycare, little bit shy but still play with them a bit. He lives with another dog now, so he is fine living with dogs. But he could get protective of you if he gets attached to you. He is a very snuggly dog, I cuddle with him in the couch all the time :)

Story
Dahlia is a loving, loyal, and very goofy girl. She is always down to play with her favorite toys, a racquet ball or tennis ball, squeaky stuffed animals or a cardboard box, she just loves to play with you. She also loves to run so a yard is a must. At night after a long walk, she loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep until it’s time for bed. Dahlia was adopted July 2022 and was a little over a year old, so i think her birthday is about June 2021. She is anxious around other dogs so would need to be the only one in the house, but I think with time and training, it’s fixable. She was attacked so she is skeptical of unfamiliar dogs. She has never been around a cat so i’m not sure how she would react around them. As for children, smaller children make her nervous since they’re so close to her face and she can get a little over excited and jumpy so it’s best to have older kids in a house. Dahlia now knows sit, down, stay(sometimes), still learning “come” but she loves learning. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Dahlia is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
We call her Orphan Annie since we found her abandoned on a hiking trail. Sort of amazing now that we have gotten to know her and that she stayed in one place long enough to be rescued.Annie is probably a Stubby Tail Cattle Dog, very much an Australian Cattle Dog with an emphasis on being active and engaged. Annie is typical of the herding breed, meant to nip at others to direct where to go. For this reason, she would not be good in a home with young children and is the kind of girl who needs a job.Annie loves being active and into everything. She usually has two speeds, sleeping, and full blast; unless she is one-on-one with her human when she is totally engaged. She is smart and would be a terrific girl to train for just about any high activity - herding, agility, anything that keeps her thinking and able to get praise for doing the right thing. This beautiful, compact girl will give back 200 percent and is capable of complex tasks; high endurance and willingness to please. If you need a working companion to be part of your everyday life you could not find a better match. She is fully vetted, microchipped, spayed, and current with her flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
This adorable litter of pups was found in the woods shortly after Christmas. They were taken in for safe keeping and the family who found them reached out to LHS for assistance placing them in their forever homes.  These puppies are  all working on their house training and crate training. Because they are just pups, they will need a home with the time and patience to teach them how to be the best doggies they can be. Because they are a herding breed, they are not recommended to be adopted to homes with small children as they will herd the children instinctively and many miss interpret this as nipping and or aggressive behavior. But in reality, it is what they are bred to do. They do wonderful with cats and dogs and all shapes and sizes.   Their adoption fee includes their spay/neuter (completed at 4 months of age), 3 sets of vaccinations, rabies, first dose of heartworm prevention, dewormer, microchip and microchip registration. If you are interested in adopting this adorable pup, please complete an online application today at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap. DOB: 11/26/24 Weight: 10 lbs as of 1/22 Approx 55 lbs when full grown   We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
