Story

Dahlia is a loving, loyal, and very goofy girl. She is always down to play with her favorite toys, a racquet ball or tennis ball, squeaky stuffed animals or a cardboard box, she just loves to play with you. She also loves to run so a yard is a must. At night after a long walk, she loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep until it’s time for bed. Dahlia was adopted July 2022 and was a little over a year old, so i think her birthday is about June 2021. She is anxious around other dogs so would need to be the only one in the house, but I think with time and training, it’s fixable. She was attacked so she is skeptical of unfamiliar dogs. She has never been around a cat so i’m not sure how she would react around them. As for children, smaller children make her nervous since they’re so close to her face and she can get a little over excited and jumpy so it’s best to have older kids in a house. Dahlia now knows sit, down, stay(sometimes), still learning “come” but she loves learning. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Ellie started out with us as a young pup. She was adopted out, only to be dumped at the shelter at another state. From what we have gathered from the shelter accompanied with our own experience with her, it’s because she needs a home without other dogs. She is 35 lbs and otherwise friendly with all humans and hopes you accept her terms and conditions because she is sooooo worth it! The Big Rig has come to North Texas (Dallas area)! The Mack truck of puppies, the wriggliest of them all, Wrigley! Coming in at a whopping 65lb plus, this neutered pup isn't even a year yet and is not for the faint of heart! This sweet boy has a big playful personality and loves to throw his weight around. Mr. Rig is looking for a forever family/person that can keep up with his energy, both physically and mentally! He would love some kids or younger/larger dogs to play with as he loves to roll around and wrestle. He is actually pretty malleable with people and dogs and will happily flomp over for belly rubs! Have a pool or like to visit the lake? We believe Mr. Wrig will take to water like a duck and thoroughly enjoy some summertime swimming! Wrigley will need an experienced family that knows how to stay consistent with obedience to really thrive. Though it is for his own good to become a top notch canine citizen, he will happily tell you all about it. Wrigley is very food motivated and walks decent on a leash, though he does love to try and catch bugs, eat long blades of grass to look like a rustic Texan, and explore his surroundings, he tires out pretty quick in the heat. This is Rip, he is not very big, house trained, crate trained, good with other dogs, doesn’t mind the inside cat but watches it. Sweet, polite, submissive, but needs a home with no horses or at least close site of them. Our old place wasn’t an issue but new house back yard borders the horse pasture and directly across from the barn, it drives him crazy to see them so close. We are afraid he or horses will get hurt or both if horse kicks thru fence at him or he were to get to them. He’s protective, will bark at strangers but will stop when told and immediately sit or retreat, he’s lovey and sweet. He loves attention but not pushy. Like a feather if he wants get in your lap. Waits till you tell him it’s ok to eat his food. Will include his crate.

This is my last week and I don’t want him to go to a surrender. I have started a new job which I will be traveling over 75% of the yr. He needs the love and I won’t be around at all to give him the attention he needs and deserves. Hawk is amazing with kids loves his belly rubs. He is house/potty trained. He knows a few commands like sit, and go to bed, but his favorite word is treat.
