Story
Ellie started out with us as a young pup. She was adopted out, only to be dumped at the shelter at another state. From what we have gathered from the shelter accompanied with our own experience with her, it’s because she needs a home without other dogs. She is 35 lbs and otherwise friendly with all humans and hopes you accept her terms and conditions because she is sooooo worth it! Ellie was born in 2018 and is located at the rescue. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Story
Miss Lou Ann was adopted by an extended family member about 4 years ago. I took her in when the family couldn't keep her any longer. I learned quickly that while Lou Ann is smart, sweet, and charming as heck, she suffers from severe noise and separation anxiety that leads to highly destructive behavior. While I have done the best I can over the years trying to fix these issues, I did not and still do not have the skill set required. Hopefully there is someone with the tools, patience, and dedication required to give this beautiful child the great life she deserves. She is highly energetic and loves plenty of space to run herself ragged. She prefers shoes and tv remotes to toys and balls and won't hesitate to see what's in your garbage can. If you are a dog owner with experience correcting severe anxieties who is willing to undertake a monumental challenge, you'll be rewarded with one of the loveliest and most affectionate dogs on the planet.

Story
Dahlia is a loving, loyal, and very goofy girl. She is always down to play with her favorite toys, a racquet ball or tennis ball, squeaky stuffed animals or a cardboard box, she just loves to play with you. She also loves to run so a yard is a must. At night after a long walk, she loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep until it’s time for bed. Dahlia was adopted July 2022 and was a little over a year old, so i think her birthday is about June 2021. She is anxious around other dogs so would need to be the only one in the house, but I think with time and training, it’s fixable. She was attacked so she is skeptical of unfamiliar dogs. She has never been around a cat so i’m not sure how she would react around them. As for children, smaller children make her nervous since they’re so close to her face and she can get a little over excited and jumpy so it’s best to have older kids in a house. Dahlia now knows sit, down, stay(sometimes), still learning “come” but she loves learning. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Dahlia is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
Hi there! My name is Duggie, and I am a male adult dog with lots of love to give. I am very affectionate and love to cuddle. I love my toys and my favorite toy is included with my adoption. I am hoping to find a loving home where I can be the center of attention and be cared for the rest of my life. I am not sure how I feel about other dogs, and I may be best as the only dog in the household. Ask the shelter staff about me, I am one of the longest residents here and would love a home to call my own.

Story
This little girl is currently looking for a forever home. She is understandably scared right now, so her new family will need to provide her with the time and patience she requires to adjust to her new environment. To encourage her adoption, we will cover her adoption fee. Additionally, she will come with her own adoption bag, which includes essential items to help her settle in. If you have room in your heart and home for a timid yet loving companion, please consider adopting her today. ~We cannot hold dogs, they are all first come, first serve~
