Bear is a sweet, energetic dog with Heterochromia (one blue eye) who loves to be around people who show him love. He was picked up as a stray in Georgia, spent some time in NYC, and is now being fostered in CT where he is THRIVING. He's able to run around and explore the outdoors, his two favorite hobbies. In a matter of a few days, Bear has become a lot more comfortable with the new surroundings and really started to show his affectionate side. He absolutely loves to play and loves to cuddle. Bear is housebroken and crate trained. Currently he has a crate inside his playpen, but chooses to sleep/hang out in the playpen with no issues - he sleeps through the night and relaxes (after a bit of whining) during the day. He’s very smart and food-motivated and responds very well to daily training. Bear has not been aggressive around his food and is the gentlest treat-taker you've ever seen. Bear loves to go for car rides! Personally, I like having him in the backseat with his seatbelt on, he prefers to be a passenger. Bear walks best with his harness and benefits from continued leash training. He is an energetic, athletic, strong dog and would do great with people who enjoy outdoor activies as well. Hi! My name is Carla. I am one and a half years old. I am believed to be an Australian Kelpie or maybe an Australian Shepherd mix. Mainly, I am mixed with love! I am a very happy, energetic, loyal, alert, eager and extremely intelligent young girl with puppy like tendencies. Due to my breed, I am capable of untiring work and endless energy if so desired. I would fit in best with an active lifestyle that includes lots of opportunities to exercise in a large fenced-in yard where I can zip around and show off my athleticism. I can run really fast. My foster mom says I'm like a bullet when I'm running at top speed! Kelpies and Australian Shepherds prefer to have a job to do as they were created to herd sheep and cattle. I will need stimulation and small tasks to keep my mind active and my energy in check. A good job or a workout combined with the mental exercise of obedience lessons would help me be my best version of myself. The mental exercise that the training provides would be a great way to keep me happy and involved. Training me for agility, obedience and rally are some great ways to give me some exercise. Although I sound like a lot of work, I can be chill as well so don't be scared off! I would be an excellent choice for adults and/or families with older (teenage) children that love to play and keep me entertained. While I love being super energetic, I also have an "off" switch too. I'm super happy if you take me out for a run, but I will be just as happy to settle down and snuggle on the couch afterwards to watch a movie. I enjoy being walked twice a day to sniff the neighborhood and do my business. I currently know how to sit and leave it. My foster mom is teaching me some additional words and some other useful commands as well. I learn really fast!! When you meet me you will notice that I have a great smile, love being petted, enjoy fetching and chewing on tennis balls, playing tug with my rope toy, and getting belly rubs. Scratches behind my ears make me very happy as well. I apologize upfront as I can be a bit bossy with other dogs...sorry...kind of a breed characteristic, so I would prefer to be an only dog and cats make my "chase" button turn on, so best to avoid those as well. Hi there, my name is Rebecca and I am a 4-month-old, 22 lb Australian Kelpie mix puppy. I was living in Von Ormy Texas when one day my owner tossed me out the front door and the neighbors heard me crying. I was just a tiny baby at the time, and a very nice lady who fosters dogs for 4 Little Paws Rescue picked me up and I have been a happy girl since she brought me home. I'm loved and well-fed and I get to play with the other foster dogs and puppies. Only one thing could make me happier, and that is where you come in... I'm ready to be adopted. I am a sweet and sociable girl, making friends easily and I love everyone instantly, humans, dogs, and a kitty cat who lives with me. I love playtime and rope toys, romping and bunny hopping through the grass. It's adorable to watch. I'm affectionate and snuggly, although right now I would rather be playing than anything else. I am almost finished with my housebreaking lessons, about 80% there, and I'm also learning how to use a doggy door. I'm smart as a whip and eager to please. My foster mom says I will make some lucky family very happy to call me their forever dog. I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little puppy like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. Mojo was found as a stray and we made every effort to find his owners but to no avail. He is an Aussie mix and of course with the breed comes high activity. I will say that he loves his down time though! He is NOT an apartment dog. He needs a good sized fenced yard. He is not great in a crowd of dogs but will do well with a sister or brother to play with. He hasn't been tested with cats so we don't know about that. The vet believes his age to be about 6 years. He's neutered, vaccinated, crate trained and heart worm negative. He is more than ready for his forever home! This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!. She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport.
