Story
DOB 7.25.25 Kelpie/Chihuahua mix Kennel trained Dog friendly (submissive) Vaccinated, microchipped, neutered Weight: about 20 pounds Engaging and people friendly Meet Marlon Brandog — the charming older puppy with a heart of gold. This handsome boy is friendly, goofy, and endlessly affectionate. He greets people with wagging tail and bright eyes, loves cuddles, and is happiest when included in family activities. He's a smaller breed (he's kind of a mystery) and is relatively quiet. Marlon is dog-friendly and sociable — he enjoys playtime and makes fast friends with other pups. Calm enough for relaxed evenings but playful enough for walks and games, he’s an easygoing companion for many home types. He responds well to gentle, consistent guidance and kindness.. Ideal home: someone who wants a loyal, affectionate dog with puppy energy tempered by a sensible, older-puppy temperament. Great with other dogs, ready to join family outings, and eager to give and receive love. Interested in meeting Marlon Brandog? Come say hello — he’s ready to steal your heart. Story
Maynard is an almost 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog who just wants to hang! Weighing about 50 pounds, he’s incredibly social and genuinely loves meeting new people, greeting strangers like old friends who just haven’t gotten enough hugs yet. When he first arrived to his foster home, he warmed up immediately in full cuddle buddy mode. Maynard is fully house-trained, happily sticking to a potty routine and sleeping in his crate peacefully for 8–9 hours. He doesn’t love being left alone, but with a frozen treat and calming music, he settles just fine. He does best in a home where someone is around often and can give him the affection and closeness he craves. Due to his noise level, he cannot live in homes with shared walls (no apartments/townhomes).Maynard LOVES his walks more than just about anything, and two short walks a day are all he needs to stay happy. He also has a hilarious independent streak and can fully entertain himself with strong chew toys, rolling on the couch, and playing solo games of catch. With other dogs, Maynard is curious and social. If he spots a dog across the street, he may pause and bark, but overall he’s friendly and interested rather than reactive. He does not have experience with cats so a proper introduction would be needed. Around kids, he has done well with a visiting 12-year-old.Maynard is easy-to-love and would love being part of a family. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
BALSAM is a real cuddle bug, climbing on his foster's lap any chance he gets earning him the position of foster-favorite. He is super playful and would be a great match for another playful dog of any size. He also can entertain himself. Check out the videos! Balsam and his siblings were surrendered to PUP because the owner, who lived in a remote area, could not afford the pups and felt she could not find suitable adopters. They said pups were born 9-27-25. The mommy dog is a much loved 30# ‘low rider’ with short legs (pictured). A partner organization agreed to pay for her to be spayed if PUP found homes for the puppies. The owner did a good job of socializing the pups and they arrived in good health. They are well socialized, playful and are enjoying the good life. Balsam looks like he is going to be a lankier than his mommy and we expect he will be in the in the lower end of large breed when he is full grown. We did DNA testing on one little boy from the litter. We suspect there might be 2 daddies in this litter. We did DNA testing on one little boy from the litter and we suspect he had a different daddy from Balsam but this should be at least half right. There were 20 identifiable breeds. Only 3 were in double digits, Australian Cattle Dog 20%, Boxer, 12% and German Shepherd 11%. Under 10% were: husky 7 %, Lab 6% and the rest are under 5%: Border Collie, Chihuahua, Australian Shepherd, Akita, Shih Tzu, Sheltie, Miniature American Shepherd, Malamute, Miniature Pinscher, Miniature Schnauzer, Peruvian Inca Orchid, and Rottweiler, Malamute, Chow Chow, Pit Bull, Cocker Spaniel. When someone asks you what breed, depending on your mood you could say Shih Tzu or Akita or any of the above. The real breed here seems to be cuddles. Balsam seems to laugh at the cold. He happily goes out to play with the other dogs and when they come in he seems disappointed and sometimes spends a bit more time playing by himself before asking to come in. He is doing a very good job of learning house breaking. He is crated for several hours during the work day and over night and keeps his crate clean. He is not fully house broken but he is making good headway. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, (he weighed 10# on 12-1 and is the largest of the litter) is vaccinated and de-wormed. He will need one additional puppy vaccination plus rabies at the adopter’s expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. His required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that he be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested. https://youtube.com/watch?v=it3wlyOkL_M https://youtube.com/shorts/n_8LJfzIcgw https://youtube.com/shorts/gGMZYI9jHuU Professional photographs by Clara Metivier https://youtube.com/shorts/n_8LJfzIcgw https://youtube.com/shorts/gGMZYI9jHuU
