Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption: Thorough veterinary examination. All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP Bordatella (Kennel Cough) Heartworm Test Fecal Test, Deworming Microchip Flea and Tick Prevention Heartworm Prevention. Spay/Neuter All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease. VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward. HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment. Welcome Dixie to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 9-month old Smooth Coated Collie/Kelpie is our best guess on breed. She weighs 50 pounds. She is very very loyal to her people and would be great with someone wanting a dog to go with you places or if you work from home and want a loyal partner. She is crate trained, potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. She was found as a stray and her foster mom has been putting this girl through dog training. She is doing really good in her classes and is learning some more basic commands. She is a higher energy dog and would be great for a runner, jogger or hiker type person. She is lower on the shed scale. She has a lot of personality and would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Her best home would be with a fenced yard. She could run and play off some energy. She likes you to be outside with her as she wants to be around her family over exploring the yard all along without you. She would be fine with children as well. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccinations, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland(Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. We can put you in touch with her foster mom after you put in and get your application approved. We can also set up a meet and greet if you are local in Texas. Look no further than Merlin (hey, hey, that's me!) and I'm here looking to adopt me a family, a home...one I can say will be all mine! And since you're reading this, I'm hoping that you'll consider making ME a part of yours!!!! I got my name cuz I'm pretty good at magic. I magically appeared in my foster mom's fenced yard and they are still trying to figure that one out. I can also magically fit myself into my favoritest bed from when I was smaller. I'm now ready to start on this new chapter of my life with lots of hugs, puppy kisses and playtime with my new family!!! I'm around 9 months old and I come in at about 30lbs, which should put me at a fantastic size when I get myself all growed up, although I shouldn't get a whole lot bigger(35-40lbs).
