Story
MEET TONNIE Meet our special needs girl, Tonnie. ❤️ Tonnie is a 8 month old, Australian Kelpie mix that is funny, silly, and a perfect puppy who happens to be blind. She would love to play all day long if you let her, and she has endless fun with her foster siblings, including cats. One of her favorite activities is feeling the dirt between her toes, which means she would love a sandbox of her very own for digging purposes. We are working on her puppy tendencies, and while she may playfully run away when scolded, it's hard to stay upset at her when everything is a game. She might have a little vision in the corner of one eye, but at night, she’s completely blind. Tonnie needs someone who understands her and has patience. She is still a bit afraid of new people and noises but is slowly calming down. She is kennel trained but doesn’t like to feel cornered when approached by strangers, which is understandable. Tonnie is the happiest dog I’ve ever fostered! Her constant silliness and happy-go-lucky attitude are always making me laugh and shake my head in amusement. We could all learn a bit from blind dogs.

Story
We got tater in a store parking lot. She’s 1 and is very cuddly to those she gets close to. She is a loyal dog. We are looking for someone who either lives on their own or has older children who are respectful to dogs and their space until she gets to know them. She doesn’t like the cold so she enjoys being inside cuddled up next to you. We want her to have training for good manners and to respect chosen commands. We’re really looking for a kind loving home for our sweet girl! She loves food games including puzzles.

These pups are in Jerome, Idaho too!

Story
POPPY is ready for her furever home for the holidays! ❄️ Here is what POPPYs foster has to say: “This is Poppy! They said she’s around 9 months old and about 45-50 pounds. She’s super sweet & shy at first but has gained more confidence from being around and playing with my golden retriever. She thinks she is a guard dog and is VERY loyal to her “pack”. So far she’s been good with my dog and our cat with the exception of an occasional chasing of the cat when he runs. She’s doing better with potty training & does very well in her crate and is a super smart fast learner. She learned “sit” and “shake” within a couple tries of each.”

Story
Meet Hank! Hank, an 8-month-old pup with a natural stumpy tail, is likely a Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog or Heeler mix. His foster mom says he’s loyal, alert, and always nearby. He does great with dogs, cats, and even cuddles with other heelers. He’s learning not to chase feathered friends and loves to explore. Though timid at first, he quickly warms up and is eager to play and learn. Hank will soon be neutered and is up to date on vaccinations. History: At just five months old, Hank faced euthanasia in an overcrowded shelter. Thankfully, Friends Furever Rescue stepped in to save him. Breed Information Both the Australian Cattle Dog and Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog are hardworking herders with loyal, energetic, and intelligent traits. They thrive on exercise and mental stimulation. While the Stumpy Tail is more reserved, both breeds are excellent companions when given structure and activity. Traits: Loyal, alert, active, and smart. Exercise Needs: Long walks, runs, or herding classes. Training Tips: Positive reinforcement, socialization, and consistent rules are key. Disclaimer As with all rescue dogs, breed identification is based on appearance and experience and may not be exact. Hank is currently being fostered in Rupert, Idaho. Story
***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Kimberly, ID INDIE appears to be about a 2.5 year old, 38-lb kelpie mix with high/mid energy and was a very good momma to her 7 puppies. INDIE is a very affectionate and fun dog. She plays with toys and chases balls and sticks. She loves playing with water (see videos). She loves being in the backyard where she can scan the perimeter for the neighbor dogs. When she hears them come out, she runs to the fence, wags her tail and whines to get them to come run the fence with her. She loves to spy on them through knot holes in the fence. INDIE is food-motivated and very eager to please. She is not a great walker in the neighborhood. She enjoys our walks, but she pulls on the leash. And when she hears a dog up ahead or sees people getting out of a car, she pulls harder. She wants so badly to go see what is going on and meet new people and dogs. She used to be a car chaser. Once in a while when a large vehicle comes by, she pulls as if she wants to chase. She has a high prey drive - birds, squirrels, cats, mice, grasshoppers, etc. INDIE loves everyone she meets, especially children. She has a hard time containing her excitement around children and jumps on them. Might not be great for smaller children. INDIE has a healed shoulder injury from her original living situation where she was a working ranch dog, but it does not slow her down a bit. She is not crate-trained, but is well-behaved when I leave her home alone in the house. She sits by the front window and watches for me to return. She loves looking out the window to see what is going on. Whether you left the house for 2 minutes just to take the trash out, or you were gone for hours, she will greet you with great excitement when you come back in. Now that her puppies have been adopted, INDIE is being a good sport as the only dog in the house, but she would love to be a part of a family and have a playmate of her own. Indie is very social and loves to play with other dogs, but she is dog selective. Slow, careful intros are best. BACKGROUND: Former ranch working dog that got injured. She was turned in by her owner to the rescue with a healed (formerly broken paw ), pregnant, and living outside. Momma INDIE is so very grateful to be out of the blizzard conditions when she was rescued. She had even dug a hole in the frozen ground to keep her seven pups warm and safe before she was rescued.
