Lady is deeply affectionate and bonds quickly, but she’s a little shy at first — especially around hands — and appreciates someone who lets her set the pace early on. Once she trusts you, she’s loyal, loving, and all-in. As a true working-breed mix, Lady is sharp, eager to learn, and loves having a “job.” If it moves, she’ll try to herd it, so she does best with adults and either as an only dog or with dogs who won’t mind her instincts. She absolutely shines with consistent direction, structure, and clear boundaries. Meet Ronda!Ronda is a sweet, playful gal who may be a little shy at first—but give her a few days, and she’ll blossom into your new best friend. She’s an active pup who loves to run around and is learning to play fetch (though sometimes she gets so excited she forgets to bring the toy back!). Ronda is adjusting wonderfully to life outside the shelter. She’s mostly potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go out, but if she can’t hold it, she’ll use potty pads. She gets so excited to play outside that she sometimes needs a gentle reminder that it’s also potty time. Walks are still a little intimidating for her, but with patience and encouragement, she’s learning that they can be fun. Ronda is a Kelpie mix, though on the smaller side—she may even have some Chihuahua in her. No matter her mix, she’s a lovable, playful companion who is eager to bond with her forever family. She would do best in a home without young children. Slow introductions to other dogs are best, and while she’s still figuring out cats, she knows to leave them alone when told. Archie is a sweet 2-year-old Kelpie mix weighing about 30 lbs. He's very affectionate and great with larger dogs, but we've learned he's not the best fit for our home with toddlers. He tends to get annoyed and overwhelmed by little ones and will accidentally knock them over when playing. Archie would do best in a home with children ages 5 and up, or with adults who can give him consistent attention and training. He's energetic and smart, but he does have a few habits that need work - mainly digging and jumping. With time and training, he'll make a wonderful companion. Meet Sheldon! Sheldon has officially been with us for two months and has learned and grown so much!! He is a herding mix at 9 months old 30lbs This poor boy found himself on those last 24 hours at a kill shelter till we stepped in. His story isn’t so great being found with another dog in an abandoned house skin and bones and covered in ticks. Then after being “rescued” spent two months sitting in a kennel at a overcrowded shelter He’s medium high energy and finally has gained appropriate weight. He really loves to snuggle and is great all new people. Once he knows the dog, he loves to play! **Crate Trained **House Trained - will let you know when he needs to go potty **Great on leash **Good in car **Has basic obedience and knows how to do "middle" Command **Very smart and treat motivated so training him has been easy so far! Someone with herding dog or working dog experience is preferred. From a scared, fragile pup to a bright, playful spirit, Sheldon’s transformation has been amazing to watch. Our petite Coney is a special soul, who just wants to be loved by her people. Left abandoned after her family moved, she is ready to find a life partner in adventure, relaxation, and love. She is only 28 pounds and is fully grown, so we put her as a small dog simply so she would not get overlooked. She fits right in between your legs and will snuggle there. She would love to be a lap dog and walks well on a leash. She enjoys playing with other dogs, and is polite about that, though being with people is what she would always prefer, and she would like to be an only dog with doggie friends. She is medium energy, and loves to lie under a desk while you are working or by your feet in the kitchen. She lives with a dog-savvy cat in the foster home and does just fine. She is quite well-behaved and loves her crate as her safe space. Coney has a smile on her face most of the time, and is a gentle soul ready for her forever!
