Story
Bingo 8 month old female  My name is Bingo I have a sister Rudy, I'm a 8 month old female Australian Kelpie mixed that loves to play . I love playing with other dogs medium to large but unknown about small dogs or cats. My coat color is cream and red; one of my eyes is blue and the other eye is brown isn't that cool? My favorite thing is being around the home with you, going camping, hiking, walking around the neighborhood, and much more. I love my crate, I walk great on my leash, and I love children. My size is small to medium around 30 lbs perfect for an apartment and or a condo. I'm very sweet snuggly and energetic. I love watching TV and or movies with you on the couch. My favorite treats are Mother Hubbard treats, Nlyabone Edible Bones, and doggie frozen yogurt and I do like other treats I am not picky. I hope we can meet so I can be that sweet bouncy pup for you and your family.   October 25, 2024, 1:21 am

Story
Meet Ziga, the neutered male Australian Shepherd. Ziga came to the Shelter as a stray so we do not know much about his life before the Shelter. Staff describe him as a handsome yet mischievous neutered male. He loves to be outdoors and happily engage with people. He has met a variety of dogs at the Shelter and has quickly initiated play. He will sometimes engage in herding breed behaviors (not a total shocker since he is well, a herding breed) so breed savvy adopters are recommended. Bonded with his guardian through force free/R+ paired with appropriate mental and physical stimulation will help set Ziga up for success. Patience as Ziga learns life skills and manners (house training, leash walking, etc) will be needed by his new guardians. If you are looking for an active pup to join you on life’s adventures – come meet Ziga today! Now through February 15th, we are hosting “Adopt Your Valentine” where adoption fees are reduced to $50. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchips. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Meet Fern, the aussie! Fern came to the Shelter as a stray with her “friend” Frisbee (a male terrier mix). Staff have observed that she is quiet in the kennel but is perking up with daily interactions with staff and other dogs. Fern is still perfecting life skills and manners such as leash walking and house training. Adopters should be patient in the transition and use force free / +R training to bond with her and help her learn. Staff have commented how sweet Fern is and noted that she enjoys playing fetch with a tennis ball. We do not have any history of Fern with children or cats. Now through February 15th, we are hosting “Adopt Your Valentine” where adoption fees are reduced to $50.
