Story
Bingo 8 month old female  My name is Bingo I have a sister Rudy, I'm a 8 month old female Australian Kelpie mixed that loves to play . I love playing with other dogs medium to large but unknown about small dogs or cats. My coat color is cream and red; one of my eyes is blue and the other eye is brown isn't that cool? My favorite thing is being around the home with you, going camping, hiking, walking around the neighborhood, and much more. I love my crate, I walk great on my leash, and I love children. My size is small to medium around 30 lbs perfect for an apartment and or a condo. I'm very sweet snuggly and energetic. I love watching TV and or movies with you on the couch. My favorite treats are Mother Hubbard treats, Nlyabone Edible Bones, and doggie frozen yogurt and I do like other treats I am not picky. I hope we can meet so I can be that sweet bouncy pup for you and your family.   October 25, 2024, 1:21 am

Story
Hero, neutered male, 10-months-old, 37-lbs If you would like to give Hero a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application Hero is social by nature, very mellow and enjoys being around people. He is aimed to please and very food motivated, so is easy to train. Hero is friendly around adults and kids, also good with other dogs and cats; he would share his toy and food without getting into fight. He is house trained and crate trained to sleep overnight; a good rider in the car; no barking or chewing behaviors. Hero will make a great family companion pet and a good walking partner in the park or hikes! Hero’s rescue story: Hero and two siblings had been wandering in the suburban mountain area for quite a while. The chance for these young puppies to survive in the wilderness during winter time is slim. Luckily, all three fragile lives were rescued in time and then got settled in foster homes. The puppies received loving care and medical attention under foster care. Hero thrived to be a healthy and happy pup! Story
Meet Leia! This sweet, sensitive girl came to the Shelter after her previous guardian was unable to continue caring for her. She had lived in a home with a maltipoo and a family previously, including teenagers. When Leia meets new people, she tends to move away and avoid interaction. After a while, she warms up. The way to Leia’s heart is through play with dogs. She is a playgroup regular and enjoys romping around with other pups. A home with a resident dog is required to help Leia transition into her new home and provide a canine friend to help show her the world is not so scary. She is house and crate trained. Leia’s favorite activities in her previous home are walking, running and playing. Her favorite toys are balls. When riding in the car, Leia likes to look outside and watch the world go by. Leia is looking for a home with a resident canine companion that she can be BFFs with. If your pup is looking for a friend – look no further than Leia!Come on in to meet your new BFF today at 1001 Rodriguez Street, Santa Cruz from 11-6pm. All adoptions are first come, first serve in person at the Shelter, and must be completed before 4:45pm.
