Please contact Lucinda (lucinda@northbaycanine.org) for more information about this pet.For more information or to adopt, please contact  Daniella Farrelly <danifarrelly@gmail.com> Shya is a 1 year 3 month old Australian Kelpie mix, weighing about 30lbs. She was found as a stray and taken to a shelter where she was due to be euthanized, but was saved by an emergency foster at the last minute. She now needs her forever home. Shya is very sweet and loving, but timid and scared (submissive, non-aggressive), and needs someone with time and patience to help her learn to trust again. She settled into her foster home within a couple of hours, and is very playful with her foster mom. She loves cuddles and belly rubs! She does suffer from separation anxiety, and will need to be helped through this. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations and fully housebroken. She is smart, with a lovely temperament, and will make a wonderful addition to the right family. Shya gets on well with other dogs. Timid at first, she loves to chase and be chased by small dogs, or dogs her own size. Wrestling is also great fun! She is good with large, chill dogs, but scared of boisterous dogs, or dogs that bark continually. Good with cats, but scared of children. ************COURTESY POST***** NOT AT THE SHELTER SEE NUMBER TO CALL BELOW***** Hello, I'm Maximus, but my friends call me Max. I celebrated my third birthday in September 2023. Max is a well-behaved pup who responds to both verbal and non-verbal commands. He's crate-trained, full of energy, and thrives when given tasks to do. We believe he's an Australian Kelpie mix with some other breed. Max walks excellently on a harness and leash. Outdoors, Max can be protective if someone approaches too closely to him or his loved ones. He grew up in a household with another older dog, birds, and children. Due to changes in our circumstances, we need to find a new home for Max. He deserves to have more freedom than an apartment can provide, especially while we're away at work. Additionally, with a baby on the way in March, we worry that Max may not adjust well to the change, as he's used to interacting with slightly older children. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
