In Long Beach Bella is a black bicolor, 45-pound, 2-yr-old Australian Kelpie mix with blue-ticked toes who is sure she will win your heart! This affectionate lap dog gets along well with every person and dog she encounters. She quickly gains confidence around other dogs. This friendly girl would do best in a home with one or more dogs - the more, the merrier for Bella! Likes: - Being brushed - Being pet - Cuddling, hiking, or nearly any activity with her people - Playing with dog friends - Chasing balls Fears: - Fireworks - Raised voices or loud noises - Bath time We rescued Bella from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter. She is praise-motivated and learns best when not scolded, as she seems to have a history of abuse and braces when voices are raised. She would do best in a home where she has space to run and play with other dogs and where she can get frequent exercise. True to her herding dog heritage, she is attentive to commands and is calm around livestock and other animals. She is highly Velcro and has high energy. Pheonix was found abandoned near a lake late at night. She came right up to me frightened so I took her home & took her in. She is good with other dogs & kids. She loves to walk and run. She really is an amazing dog & is good with schedules. She is kennel trained & her bedtime is 9:15pm. She does listen and can understand certain commands. One vet says she is an Australian kelpie but another said she was a Doberman mix or husky mix. I would love to keep her but my work schedule & time doesn’t give me enough time to dedicate to her. She needs someone who can give her the time & attention with proper exercise because she loves her walks. I would love for her to go to a loving & nurturing home.
