Story
Spike is a sweet young pup who has quite the list of accomplishments for one so youthful! His former family shared that he was crate trained and good with children, that he liked to ride in the car, run and play, and most if all, that he just wanted to be by his family’s side. You can imagine what a surprise it was for Spike to end up at the shelter- now he’s looking for a new family to show off his skills to (and maybe even add a few more)! Volunteers and community members who have spent time with Spike have shared the following:“Spike is a friendly guy and he loves running around in the yard with his kennelmate. He`s learning leashes are okay. Once he knows you, he allows light petting, and gives you little kisses in return.”“Spike is very loving, cuddly and likes pets.”Spike is an active pup who has done well with larger dogs and would like to meet any smaller dogs before heading home with them. He may actually do well with a confident dog in his new home to show him the ropes (and where to find the treats). Spike is sure to make a wonderful companion for a patient, caring family- come and meet him today!

Story
Meet Magnolia! This sweet girl is currently seeking a foster or pre-adoption home. She’s temporarily staying with her sister while recovering from Distemper, which is non-contagious in homes with fully vaccinated adult dogs.Magnolia and her sister came in as strays, and during their time in foster care, they’ve proven to be absolutely wonderful! They’ve been tested with both small and large dogs, pigs, and even cats, and they’ve done great with everyone!Magnolia is kennel trained, does well in car rides, and is full of playful energy. She would make a fantastic addition to any family! If you’re interested in giving Magnolia a loving home, please email PACC.medicalfoster@pima.gov for more information!

Story
We do daycare and boarding in our home. We first got Ray as a client but the owners died and Ray was passed to a family member who couldn't care for him so he was left with us. We are not a good fit for pups who need a forever home. Too much stimulation and too many dogs coming and going. We did find a terrific home for him but as it turns out he fear nips strangers coming into the home. We weren't aware of the extent of this behavior. He needs to be in a home where he can be trained to stay on his mark and where he can begin to relax into a normal routine. He has had extensive training. He is a wonderful smart dog full of energy and love. We are heartbroken at the thought of him going to a shelter but we've kept him as long as we can and as I said this isn't a stable environment for any dog to call home. We've had him now for several months and he's beginning to act out. I'm praying someone has the patience and the love Ray needs as he deserves no less. Thank you for reading.

Story
He was abandoned with my old roomate in front of a petco in 2022. He had major behavioral issues, and since she was a dog trainer, we worked together to sort of fix him. He doesnt get along with other dogs right away, but after a couple safe introductions with boundaries he can make friends. He used to live with 4 other dogs happily. He just needs time. He knows a lot of tricks and is very food motivated, never has house accidents, and is pretty silly and sweet. The goofiest of geese. He is not destructive when hes alone, besides shredding his own toys or pulling his doggy bed around the house. he is very high energy and needs to be walked and trained regularly, and his food should always be fed in numerous puzzle toys. I work 10+ hour days, and although I take a break half way to potty him, I know he needs more. I'm depressed and I didnt intend to keep him beyond fixing his major behavioral problems. I just cant take him to a shelter. He deserves someone that can love him.
