Story
Name: Shaggy Age: Adult Weight: 20lbs Breed: Double Merle Mini Aussie Doodle Good with kids/cats/dogs: All! House trained: Almost! Crate trainer: Does not enjoy but will settle Special needs: Deaf, some vision impairment (more noticeable at night) Where foster is located: Waukesha area Shaggy is a sweet, friendly Mini Aussie Doodle. He is dog, cat and kid friendly and looking to be a cherished member of the family. He enjoys cuddling up and staying close to his foster family (humans and canines) and is looking for a home that wants a cuddler/lap dog. While in great overall health, Shaggy is deaf and also faces some vision impairment (more noticeable at night), so a yard, while not required, may be beneficial. If his future home doesn’t have a fenced yard, he will need someone who is happy to take him on walks to exercise him (luckily he walks well on a leash). Despite being deaf, Shaggy is curious and alert and working on learning hand signs. This brave, confident boy LOVES running and playing chase with other dogs in his fenced in yard at his foster home. He is a friendly and happy pup! Shaggy’s forever family has to be patient and understanding of his challenges as he learns the routines of a new environment. He loves to be near his people and may initially be vocal when left alone (Kongs/distractions are helpful). This sweet pup is sure to make a lucky family so happy, could he be the pup you are looking for? Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Harley was adopted from the Wisconsin humane society. She has lots of energy and would greatly appreciate another dog to play with all the time. She lives with four cats that she wants to play with in “puppy-style”. She still needs work with potty training. She is very scared of things and shows this with growling. She’s a herding puppy so she has tendencies to want to herd small children. She needs more attention than we can give her unfortunately. She loves to cuddle and gives kisses and hugs. She loves going to the dog park and playing with dogs. She doesn’t like strangers trying to pet her, she usually backs away. She’s improving since we got her but she still needs time. She likes to use her voice and bark. A home with another dog would be the ideal home. And a place that she can run freely would also be a plus. She’s about 10 months old. She’s a sensitive puppy so someone who uses positive training styles is also a must. She doesn’t train well with treats, she’ll usually drop it.

Story
Meet Honey! Age: young adult Weight: 19 pounds History: former mill dog. I'm a very sensitive soul, and it's taken me a bit more time to come around to living in a home and what it's like to be around humans. Housetrained: working on it Crate trained: no, and after that being my only means of living, I'm very scared of them. Good with: Dogs (I actually do much better with another dog who can help me learn how to be a part of a family), cats. No kids, please, they are a bit too much for me. Special needs: hypothyroidism (meds for this) and gastrointestinal issues, specifically when switching food, so will have a specific diet. I'm ready to start looking for my forever home after month in my foster home and making small strides in the right direction. I'll need someone who is very patient and very understanding and willing to help me learn that family life is the best life. I'm working on my pottying outside, but I will need a completely fenced-in yard and a long leash while I'm learning that you are okay while doing so. It's a scary big world for me right now, and the great outdoors puts me in flight mode, so the fence is very important for my safety. I have it in me to be loved, but it will take time, and it will be so rewarding. We can celebrate my progress together! If you have some understanding of mill dog survivors, you might be my person. If you don't have an understanding of mill dog survivors, but have the patience to put the work in, I might be your dog! If you think you can get past my good looks and my incredibly soft fur, get ahold of my people so we can start our journey together! *Honey is being fostered in Trempealeau, WI. Story
Meet Phyllis Diller! Age: 15 years old Breed: Poodle Weight:11 lbs Good with: dog, cats, older kids House training: potties outside Crate trained: does not use a crate Needs: Love! Phyllis is a 15 year-old, 11 pound spicy little Poodle. She came to us with a wild hairdo on top of her head which reminded her foster parents of the famous Phyllis Diller, and what a fun name! Since coming into rescue, she has had a spa day and is enjoying her new look! Her ideal home would be a quiet one with someone who is home often and who will let her lay next to them on the couch and sleep in bed with them. Phyllis is very quiet, sweet and a little bit saucy. She enjoys leisurely walks, laps, a warm bed, and snacks. She loves to be told how pretty she is that she's a good girl, but to be honest, she can’t hear you. Though her hearing is gone, she still loves the compliments and attention but isn’t afraid to make sure you know she’s the boss 🙂 Phyllis has lived with both big and small dogs, kids and even cats. So, you see how easy she is! She takes everything in stride and just needs love. That is the biggest thing for her; lots and lots of love. If you think you have what it takes to make her life complete, we're pretty sure she will do the same for you. It's a win win for everybody! Story
Meet Barkley! Age: Adult Weight: 19lbs Breed: Miniature Poodle Good with: Dogs and cats, good with older kids (younger kids who respected his space/leg would be OK too) House/crate trained: Both! Special needs: recovering beautifully from FHO surgery, activity as tolerated as he heals Where foster is located: Madison Barkley is a mellow, handsome pup who is looking for a quiet forever home. He is is well behaved and has excellent indoor and outdoor manners. Barkley is house broken and trusted to free roam, but he is also OK with being crated if that’s what works better for your home. He has fantastic leash skills as well. Barkley lives with older children in his foster home and enjoys being near them (sleeping in your bed or on a blanket on the floor). He also coexists nicely with the resident dog and is considered cat friendly. Barkley is a non-barker and prefers to find a home that is quiet or has a space for him to rest/relax. He is currently recovering from an FHO surgery and is currently low energy, but his energy levels may increase as he continues to heal. He has such a fantastic personality, he does a cute little happy dance when he’s excited and he loves to give his people kisses. Barkley loves to be near his people and even likes joining them in the car. Barkley is a true gentleman and is looking for a home with cozy blankets and lots of peanut butter. This non-shedder is looking for a place where his manners and beautiful curls can be appreciated for many years to come. Does Barkley sound like the pup for you?
