Story
We ask you to inquire about adopting Jack only if you are prepared to be stopped when you're out and about with this handsome guy - people won't be able to help themselves from commenting about how gorgeous he is! Truly, he is a conversation starter! Not only that, but Jack is sweet, loving, and highly intelligent, who happens to be an absolute show-stopper with his stunning chocolate and white coat that is sleek and silky. Jack was one of several pups from an unplanned litter that Jack's human mom and dad's dog had. His momma is an Aussie-Doodle, and she's not telling who Jack's daddy is! Because his human dad passed away and his mom works long hours, Jack finds himself in need of a new home. Jack is currently living with his human brother and his family which includes two young children, another dog, and a cat. One-year-old Jack has been loved and well cared for throughout his life. Weighing in at 60 lbs, he is up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, microchipped, and neutered. Jack's family reports that he is good with the kids (ages 3 years and 18 months) and loves playing with their family dog. He is getting used to the cat but will playfully give chase if the kitty runs. Jack enjoys rides in the car and is crate-trained. Jack's family shares, "He is a very sweet, energetic boy. He will lay down and rest during the day when our other dog does but likes to be near the action and included in whatever you are doing. He enjoys chewing on his Nylabones and is a very typical, loving puppy!" Jack will be ready to come north to be directly adopted in mid-November. Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to become an important, forever part of their life journey by continuing the rehabilitation we have begun. If you would like to be part of Jack's rescue story and are already approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Cheryl Kewley to be considered to adopt Jack. If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to lean more and to submit an online application. Click here to visit our website. Please contact us with any questions regarding your application status. PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: Click for Adoption Application About Our Rescue Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. ADOPTION FEES - Effective of October 1, 2024 PUREBRED DOGS Purebred puppies, up to 6 months $1000 Purebred dogs, 6 months - 6 years $800 Purebred dogs, 7 - 9 years $650 Purebred dogs, 10 years and up $550 Young dogs with special needs $650 Senior dogs with special needs $500 Pairs of Purebred Puppies, up to 6 months $1600 Bonded pair - young purebred dogs $1400 Bonded pair - senior dogs 7 years & up $1000 MIXED BREED DOGS Up to 6 months $850 6 months - 6 years $750 7 - 9 years $650 10 years and up $550 Young dogs with special needs $650 Senior dogs with special needs $500 Bonded pair - young dogs $1000 Bonded pair - senior dogs 7 years & up $900 A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed. Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical and other expenses. Every cent of your generosity goes directly toward the care of a Sunshine dog. Story
Meet Encaustic..... What a Gorgeous Tri Colored Boy.... Encaustic and some siblings were recently unsold to the public or to the pet store chains. Sometimes we do not know why we are offered certain pups, sometimes it's simply due to space, slow sales with pet store, you name it. It's very sad to think what the outcome would be for these pups. Encaustic is a 9.5 week old male Aussie Doodle. Thats a cross of a Australian Shepherd and Mini Poodle. Encaustic has a nubbed tail. We estimate his full growth weight to be around 20 - 25 pounds. He is Gorgeous.... He is considered low shedding. Most people with allergies due well with a low shedding pup. Encaustic does have a wave to his hair, not a curl. Encaustic is very social, confident and is having a blast in his foster home. He will be very popular.. Encaustic will need daily exercise and people should realize, this breed mix usually does better with alot of training and stimulation. They are Not couch potatoes. Using a wee wee pad for potty training. Being fostered in Rockland County NY Send an email to Onepawatatimerescue@gmail.com and request an application ** This is the only way to get an application Adoption fee is $950 We adopt in the Tri State Area ONLY NY, NJ, PA, CT, DE, MA, MD, RI, VT, NH

Story
Meet sweet Penelope. Penelope is an 11 month old, 47 lb Aussiedoodle pup that is sweet natured and on the shy side. She needs to learn how to be a dog so a home with another dog will definitely help Penelope come out of her shell! She is quiet and not a big barker. Penelope is great with children, dogs of all sizes and cats. Penelope is house-broken and crate trained. She was surrendered by someone that did not have the the time to train her otherwise so she is not yet used to a leash, therefore her new family should be ready to help her learn this skill. Interested in becoming Penelope’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fees cover spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
