He was matted, emaciated and had bite wounds on his neck. Thankfully a good samaritan rescued him and Hershey now has a second chance with Lovebugs Rescue. Hershey is a 2 year old, 11 lb mixed breed with something Merle in it - maybe Aussie/Mini Poodle mix. Hershey is well mannered in the home and seems to enjoy the company of other small dogs. He will require slow handling and a warm up with new humans initially. Hershey's foster has been providing him with lots of exposure to new things in our human world. He would benefit from some continued socialization and exposure with his new family. Hershey would prefer a home with less coming and going, and another small playful pooch would be a bonus for him, although not required. Hershey's handsome merle coat is currently cut back short, but is expected to grow back in long. This boy is super sweet and we can't wait to watch him blossom further. Hershey's adoption fee is $400 and includes his neuter, microchip, vaccines/flea treatment and deworming current. Apply at www.lovebugsrescue.org

Story
Just look at those eyes! You will fall in love with Cooper, a miniature Poodle mix. Cooper, is approximately 4 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Because Cooper was not socialized as a puppy he can be apprehensive when meeting new people and in new environments. He needs a time to warm up to new people, but once he gets to know you, he will be your best friend.  We are looking to place him in an adult only home with someone who has previous dog experience, and will have the patience to give him time to settle in and trust you . Cooper is a home body, and to him the outside world is a scary place. He would love a home where he can be someone's stay-at-home companion. Cooper likes living with another dog, but again needs time to warm up to any new dog. He is currently living in a foster home with another dog and both dogs are happy to just hang out together. Cooper will need reinforcement on his potty training. Cooper goes to doggie training class once a week and has made great progress in adjusting to being around other people and dogs. Cooper already knows all his basic commands. It would be best if his new family continued with the training classes, which are included with his adoption.  Therefore only homes in South Orange County will be considered. He loves to cuddle up on the couch with his favorite people and get lots of pets. He is a very smart dog, and wants to please his human parents. He is also house training, and is learning quickly. He is a wonderful companion who would wants to find a forever home with a fun loving family. Available to meet in San Diego or Aliso Viejo vicinities.
