Story
“Where did this girl come from!?” Was the thing everyone who met Mabel said because she immediately feels like joy walked in with sunshine in tow. Her face, her energy, the love- she just feels so good to be in the company of! And she sure appreciates the love she gets in return and it looks good on her. Two things before you go reading her whole bio- Do you love buying dog toys for a dog that loves toys? If you said no, Mabel may not be for you, she loves toys! LOVES them. It would be unfair to her and you would be cheating yourself out of a front row seat to absolute cuteness. Do you allow your dog on the couch? If you say no, I would like you to reconsider that stance if you adopt Mabel. Her love of the soft cozy spot right next to you is another thing you would cheat yourself from experiencing if she can’t get on the couch. Okay, we got those things out of the way and if you are still here, great! Soft places and cute toys- check. Now let me tell you more about sweet Mabel. First off, she has never met a stranger, in fact its almost like she is the appointed leader of the greeting committee. The best part is that she is greeting with sparkling eyes and the happiest tail. There is no doubt she is happy to see you, even if its for the first time. So expect to meet at least a few new people while out on walks together. She is working on it but that enthusiasm for life and all the goodness can lead to her pulling a bit on leash. She is actively working on it and thanks to her love of people and treats, she is a quick learner. Once she gets home, training will continue with you by her side. Another thing you can look forward to is Mabel’s love of water being another source of entertainment and joy. You will see it in her profile video but whether its trips to the beach or a kiddie pool in the back yard, she is going to love splashing around and making you laugh. We introduced Mabel to a few new dogs to get an idea of how friendly she is with new dogs and see her play style. This helps us know what type of dogs would be best, if any, in her future home. Mabel quickly showed us she is what we call a “rough & rowdy” playmate. She likes to run and romp and even wrestle, all in good fun, but an ideal playmate would have similar playstyle or understand it as play. Her playmate match that day was a big ol’ rough and rowdy pit bull named Petey. Her approach to play could be intimidating or misunderstood by some dogs but she corrects easily and calms quickly when play is not returned by the other dog. An ideal home for Mabel would be with a family that understands the importance of training for her mental and physical well-being. Walks, socializing, and learning/respecting house manners will be important for her family to support her in. Mabel is very fortunate to be waiting for her adoption day in the home of a dedicated foster family that has other dogs and is always practicing best manners with them. Older kids would be best for Mabel, her zoomies are amazing but enough to knock over a little one on new walking legs. A cat-free home will be important for Mabel. When introduced to our house cat she was much too interested and eager, this would translate into chasing a cat in the home. That is chaos for everyone and cats hate it. We estimate Mabel to be about 3 years old, in rescue we cannot be 100% accurate, but our medical staff makes educated observations to provide an accurate estimate. Currently Mabel weighs 60 lbs and is fully-grown. Story
The list goes on and on about all the amazing qualities Miss Sable brings to the table. I don’t think there is enough writing space to list it all out but we’ll try. First things first! You have to know how much Sable loves people and affection! Sable is a people-lover through and through, always seeking attention and affection from those around her. Watch her video and you’ll see exactly what we are talking about!! https://youtu.be/R-chtCDuXtw?si=Z2MDXaHwD0FF21fK Did you see what we mean?! Sable is a people’s dog and potentially even a family dog. She is so patient and gentle with kids. In her eyes, any affection is good affection. She was with kids as young as 4 years old to 14 years old and was a gentle queen letting them hug on her, brush her, dress her up, etc. I’m sure she would have let them paint her nails too if it led to that. So if that video didn’t seal the deal, let me tell you a little bit more about Sable and why you should adopt her. You already know she’s great with kids and is so gentle with them but she is also incredibly smart and savvy! She is the type of dog that you could teach any trick and she would get the gold star buzzer from the America’s Got Talent judges. She’s that smart!! So if you love training and teaching your new dog some cool tricks, you need to adopt Sable. It would also be in her best interest for her adopter to have a general knowledge and understanding about her suspected breed. We believe Sable is a Belgian Malinois mix approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 55lbs and is full grown. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Sable is also potty and crate trained and can go at least 14 hours overnight without any accidents nor do you hear a peep out of her! She truly is a lady. Sable loves to explore and she’s the best companion to take on adventures and to take for walks. She is gentle on a leash, only pulling every so often when she gets excited about something but responds so beautifully to corrections. You’ll catch her checking in with you from time to time on her walks as well. Sable is also a lady when she passes by other dogs when she is out and about. A quick hello and she’s off exploring the next sniff spot. She has a perfectly balanced energy where she can join you for hikes, adventures, long walk or even a run and then after will be the most relaxed girly at home snuggling on the couch with you watching tv or laying by your feet chewing on a toy. She’s got the whole package! She even loves to go socialize at events! So if you’re a person that wants to be able to take your pup to the coffee shop, pickle ball, or even a sports grill/restaurant to watch Sunday football or meet with some friends. She is the perfect date. Sable is dog friendly and does great when she is around other mellow dogs that she meets. She has been in many play groups but isn’t too interested in playing with other dogs. She’d much rather be loving on her person or learning a new trick. Which is why we believe she would be best as your only furry companion in the home including cats. Sable would also love a home that has a backyard where she can romp around when she pleases, soak up the sun on a relaxing day, and to hangout with her new family. We are willing to test Miss Sable with anything you need us to in order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. If you're ready to welcome an outgoing and loving companion into your life, Sable is eager to meet you and show you just how special she is Application link https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/664c1374b87f4b0cd7071a53 Please email jacquelynn@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions! Story
Meet Luna! She is currently 32 pounds, 4 months old, and we think she may be a Mastiff mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Luna’s video here: This striking puppy is simply gorgeous. Not only does lovable Luna have an unusual black and white marking pattern, we also love her freckles! She has black freckles in her white fur, and beautiful freckles on her soft belly too. (You’ll see this often because this lovable girl will roll over at a moment’s notice and offer up her belly for pets and rubs.) Luna also really enjoys head scratches, and will lean into your hand to encourage you and assure you that you are doing a good job. Watch out tho, because she will relax entirely from the head scratches, and you will end up holding her up, lol. (We love this about her – she does everything with her whole heart and complete trust.) But perhaps the best thing about Luna, other than her high squish-level on the squish meter (a real thing that we didn’t just make up), is her unmistakable yet adorable underbite. Luna is a very relaxed and happy puppy, and you will see her smile a lot. Her underbite, especially the two bottom teeth that seem to protrude the most, will tickle your funny bone and make you chuckle and smile. We could honestly stare at this amazing girl all day! Luna is treat- and food-motivated, so we are sure that training will be that much easier. She is very clever and will quickly figure out exactly which pocket you keep your treats in, lol. We are excited to see all the commands and tricks this smart and charming girl will learn. Luna is in a loving foster home with several other dogs (see her brother Marley Pup Cup if you can stand the gorgeousness overload). Luna's foster mum reports that clever Luna is already crate and potty trained! Luna is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Story
If Cinnamon Roll were a person, he would be a hopeless romantic. Everything about him exudes an ability for deep love. When I first met him I was struck by his warm eyes which almost distracted me from his gorgeous brindle color, which I suspect may come from some mastiff mixed in there but of course, we can’t know for sure. Now he didn’t get the size of a mastiff, he is more like a half-size. The only way I would call him a gentle-giant would be if we were talking about love and loyalty- he is a giant in that sense! Cinnamon Roll weighs 64 lbs and is full grown at an estimated 3 years old. So this is him, gorgeous, glorious him. He may be considered a big dog but he isn’t imposing at all, I don’t think he has any concept of his potential to be intimidating and I am not going to either. Let’s have him out here being a big softie in that mastiff/staffie body. Once he gets home to his forever family, he is going to bond so deeply, be prepared for a dog that looks at you with big ol’ puppy dog heart eyes! I have also heard a tiny bit of chattiness out of him while hanging out in the living room so he may also tell you he loves you sometimes. When we introduced Cinnamon to new dogs he was calm, welcoming and easy-going but isn’t super playful. He is polite and tolerant, enjoying spending time with other dogs but passing on the games of chase or wrestling that were going on around him. An ideal doggie sibling would be moderately playful but Cinnamon Roll would be just as happy soaking up all the love himself. Another dog is not necessary for him to be fulfilled and happy. A home with a yard would be great for him but isn’t necessary. He will need a bit of polishing up on his leash skills, but he is attentive and treat motivated which will make the learning process a breeze. Regular walks, treats, and sweet talk will have him walking like a dream in no-time. While Cinnamon has a calm demeanor overall, no cats in the home for him. When we introduced him to our house cat he was a bit too interested for us to say he wouldn’t try to chase the cat and given his size, that would be chaos. If you're looking for a gentle giant with lots of love to give, Cinnamon is ready to be your loyal companion.Adopt this sweet boy today and get started making beautiful memories together! ! He cannot wait to go on adventures and learn all about the world with a person of his own at the other end of the leash. We sure hope its you! If you have any questions about Cinnamon Roll or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions.
