This is Oliver - or sometimes Ollie - and he has made a miraculous transformation since being rescued from the side of I-45. His once coarse hair is now a beautifully soft golden fur. At a year old, he is full grown and is weighing in at about 50 lbs. One of Oliver’s siblings was DNA tested and came back 67% Great Pyrenees and 33% German Shepherd so we’re going with that - he’s got a curl to his tail but no double dew claws. Mia is a very sweet and shy girl. She is skiddish around men but loves women and kids. Good with cats and other dogs. She is very submissive, and gentle with other animals. She does love to run and play when outside but when in the house she is very calm. Would make a great couch buddy. She is crate and house trained. She does run out of the house barking at nothing and everything because her mom taught her to protect her home. She is a great watch dog. Mia is heartworm negative and on monthly preventative. She was born 4/11/22.

Champ is a big sweetheart. He has been with HOT-PAWS since 2021. He was part of our No Dog Left Behind program as he arrived Heartworm positive, but was negative at last test. His last Pro-Heart 12 was in August 2024. This boy currently is housed with a female dog and they get along well. He seems good with most other dogs. He has been around older kids and would probably enjoy smaller ones, but may knock smaller ones over. He is not good with cats. Champ loves to play and walks well on a leash. He crates okay, but is not fond of being cooped up. He prefers a bit of running room if possible. and loves attention from his person. Champ requires a secure fence, and can be prone to digging at times, mainly to make a nest for himself to lay in and not to escape.
