Story
GAINESVILLE, TEXAS: NEEDS FOSTER, FOSTER TO ADOPT OR ADOPTION EMAIL ASDRESCUE@GMAIL.COM Meet pretty Miss Bambi! This sweet girl was found as a stray or, more likely, abandoned, as so many are these days. Fliers were posted, she was scanned for a chip but didnt have one and no one came looking for her. The person who found her was unable to keep her so she reached out to us before taking her to the shelter. Bambi is being boarded now because we do not have any open fosters. She is in need of either a foster home, foster-to-adopt home or adoptive home. Bambi is a young spayed female Anatolian Shepherd Dog or mix. Her estimated DOB is roughly July- to Oct 2022 (between 9 to 12 months old). She is spayed and fully vetted and is heartworm negative. She is a sweet, silly, playful girl. She is friendly with people and has been good with the other dogs in the play yard at the kennel. TRANSPORT ASSISTANCE options are available to areas including, but not limited to, Pacific Northwest, East Coast, Midwest and other points within a radius of 1,000 miles. Secure fencing with minimum height of 4 feet is required on all adoptions. NO LIVESTOCK EXPERIENCE Most Anatolians are not well suited to apartment living.

Story
Give a warm welcome to our new arrival, Norman! A Good Samaritan fed him and his friend on the streets for 2 months. After we posted a heartbreaking video of them running after her car as she left, fosters stepped up to save them. Norman would like to introduce himself: Hi, I'm Norman! I may be nervous to meet you at first, but I think once I warm up to you we can be best buds. I like to play with other dogs and toys! Living with another dog might be fun for me! But I definitely prefer a calm household! The Basics: I'm 9 months old and 22 pounds and super sweet and playful Training: I'm almost potty-trained and almost leash-trained and making progress on my crate training. I currently live with some kiddos and think being with older kids is what I enjoy most. I think living with another dog might help my confidence and personality shine! Norman will be available for adoption soon! Questions? Email placement@thestreetdogproject.org. Story
Amos McCoy, an old name for an old man (think of the 1950`s/60`s TV program `The Real McCoys). Amos is the oldest dog we have inGDRNT care, not in longevity, but in age, he has been in GDRNT for over a year, but he is 11 years old. This guy came to GDRNT suffering from bad ear infections and some skin funk… we have been battling this with him and our veterinarian. He was sent to a specialist, who tested him and the results showed that he was allergic to most everything in the environment... And so he was started on allergy shots and different antibotics, but his ear infections did not get any better. Finally the Speciality Vet came up with an antibotic solution that was packed down in the ear canal. Took two rounds of packing the ears, and we started seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. As he started feeling better from the ear infections, we noticed that he was having trouble getting up after laying down, and we started him on some shots for his arthritis (the boy is almost bouncing now some times). There was also a suggestion that we change his kibble... which we have settled on a single protein (Salmon), gluten free, GMO free, low glycemic, no corn, soy, or wheat kibble. And he is doing SO-O-O much better. His ear infections are down to just some yeast, which we are dealing with with a high dose of probiotics. Like we said at the start of this, he is estimated to be 11 years old, which means that he came to GDRNT, potty trained, crate trained, with house manners, and pet friendly. And while he loves a nap, he does well with kids, big dogs, small dogs, and cats! Amos is available for adoption in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex. Story
Hi there! I`m an adorable, 86-pound furball who absolutely loves food and people. When I first got to my foster home, I was a bit skeptical of people and sudden moves freaked me out. But now, I`ve learned that most people are pretty cool and just want me to love on them. I`m sweet as can be, and I adore petting—don`t stop or I`ll annoy you to no end! I`ve also mastered the `go lay down` command and I`m pretty good about following it.I`m a big fan of going on walks, though there are a few things I`m not too keen on. Fast-moving objects like runners, bikers, and motorcycles make me nervous, so watch out! And if we encounter another dog on our walk, you`ll see me getting a bit anxious.I`m okay with my crate, especially if you entice me with a treat. I might whine a bit, but once you leave, I`ll settle down. Just remember, the crate is for when you`re gone—otherwise, I`m happy to be out and about. My foster mom doesn`t let me sleep on the bed, and while I understand, I`ve been known to sneak onto the couch when she`s not looking (shh, don`t tell her!).There are a couple of things I really don`t like: the vacuum and the lawnmower. I think they`re out to get me.But overall, I`m a loving and loyal companion who`s always ready for some affection and a good walk (as long as we avoid those fast-moving and four-legged things)!Abby is available for adoption in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. Visit danerescue.net to find out more info about our adoption process and complete the adoption application.
