Story
He was left behind when his owners moved out. Very affectionate. He looks like a goofy, kind of floppy hound dog as he ambles around. He’s sweet and affectionate. Gets along with most dogs. He’s a little bossy with food especially with a timid dog. Feeding in a crate solves that. Loves his play time in the yard with two stout dogs. Great on a leash. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. Tanner's adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $225. If transport is needed, his adoption fee is $525 (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions).Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to Your Browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41LOCATED IN CROSSVILLE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN. Story
Please contact Judy (paxtonj@live.com), (865) 300-8146 for more information about this pet.Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hi! Please meet Bernie, who is a 98 lb. Anatolian Shepherd livestock guardian dog who will be a year old on February 28th!  Bernie is fully up to date on vaccines, dewormed, tested negative for heartworms, and current on flea and tick prevention. He is also scheduled for neutering on January 10. Large dogs are neutered later than normal.  Bernie knows basic commands, is incredibly cuddly, and would love to sit on your lap or climb on the couch if you let him! He is a very, very affectionate and loving dog. To top it off, he is extremely gentle when taking treats from your hand too! Bernie has done a fantastic job protecting our property, watching over our chickens, and alerting us when someone is around. However, he hasn’t been getting along with our male senior dog. He gets along great with our female lab and the neighbor’s 50 lb. shepherd mix. For everyone’s safety, we’ve made the difficult decision to find him a new home due to our older male dog. He does great around the toddler.  He is good on a leash, loves to ride in the car, and was very well behaved at the vet.  Bernie will thrive as a livestock guardian on a large property to patrol. If you or someone you know can give him the home he deserves, please reach out. The above was written by Bernie’s current owner.  Almost Home Animal Rescue is working with them to find him the perfect forever home.  Please contact Judy at judy@almosthometn.org or 865-300-8146 for more information or to request an application.  Adoption fee is $250. Posted by JP December 15, 2024.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. December 16, 2024, 10:44 pm
