This adorable pup is learning to play with toys and is a happy little guy. He is ready and eager to please his new family. He is a curious boy who is affectionate, even tempered, and intelligent. Story
Meet Harper! She is a 1 year old Anatolian Shepherd who weighs 63 pounds. She is a very high energy dog. She will do best with an active family and in a home with a fenced-in yard. She appears to be crate trained and is quiet in her crate after a few minutes of "getting settled." She is very smart and knows basic commands. She walks reasonably well on a leash, but is VERY curious about her surroundings and loves to take lots of "sniff" breaks. She loves to play fetch, but hasn't figured out how to return the ball yet!  A home with no little children is recommended, as she jumps up frequently when she gets excited. She is not cat tested. She is doing well with the large, male, resident dog and tested well with dogs at the shelter.   If you are interested in adopting Harper, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.    **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **    November 7, 2024, 6:31 pm

Story
Denver was rescued from a county shelter after being there over a month. Sadly I have been put in the tough situation to rehome. Denver is a sweet boy who adores other dogs. He will need a string leader dedicated to training. I am happy to chat more about him and our situation.

Story
Zinnia Noelle Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Mix Gender: Female Estimated Birthday: 10/20/2021 Current Weight: 65 Pounds House & Crate Trained: Yes Adoption Fee: $265 --===================== Hi, I’m Zinnia Noelle! I was out on my own as a stray before I was rescued. The humans think I might be about 2 or 3 years old. Now I’m learning a lot at my foster home about good manners and look forward to settling in to my forever home! I’m learning well because I’m easy to redirect and am treat-motivated (yum!). I take some time to warm up to new situations and people. After I feel comfortable, I am lovey-dovey and enjoy being with my people and snuggling. If I want attention, I might paw at you - hey! If I haven’t seen you all day, I might be so excited that I jump (oh right, I’m learning I shouldn’t do that!). I like my foster’s teenager, but haven’t yet been seen around younger kids. I get along well with other dogs and cats. I’m actually pretty curious about cats and squirrels! Playing with other dogs is super fun (if I get rowdy, just redirect me)! I can tend to be on the alpha side and I’ve been seen herding other dogs. To be safe, it’s a good idea to introduce me slowly to larger dogs. I enjoy chewing on bones and toys, so much that I’ve stolen them from my foster sibling, and have even stolen the humans’ shoes and stuffed animals (still learning what’s OK to chew on). I love to be outside, running around and playing with other dogs (I’ve got medium energy). While I adjust to a new home, a 6-foot fence would be preferable, at least until I prove that I won’t run away. I’m totally house trained and also like my kennel. I walk pretty well on a leash, but it’s kind of new so I’m getting better. Let’s be buddies and practice together! Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Zinnia Noelle is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!
