Davie came to us with a birth defect he was a Psedo sexual male meaning he had male and female parts. He has already undergone surgery to fix this birth defect, and he is now a all and all boy. This adorable pup is learning to play with toys and is a happy little guy. He is ready and eager to please his new family. He is a curious boy who is affectionate, even tempered, and intelligent. Davie is up to date on all vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, neutered, and ready to join his new family. Will require patience and committment. Zero aggression - A very kind dog ANXIETY:  Very afraid of people and will run and/or hide. Afraid of storms but just wants to be with you.BARKING:  High - Extremely LOUD EXPERIENCED OWNER NEEDED:  Yes CRATE TRAINED:  Yes but will break out HOUSE TRAINED:  Yes GOOD IN CAR:  Yes.  FUN FACTS: Theo was severely abused. Upon entry into rescue he hid in a corner, back to us, and shook hard. He's come a long way, however, and does well on his calming drops. He loves his foster family, but he is still a timid guy and afraid of new people. He will require commitment, devotion, and patience. He will not be a dog that is snuggly and kissy or wrapped up in his new family, due to his need to learn to trust. He will take a significant amount of time to learn and to establish acceptance of his new life but he is SO worth it. Theo is a VERY KIND and GENTLE dog with a soft, loving heart. He has absolutely ZERO aggression. He's also highly intelligent. He requires a 6ft fence for playtime and to be on a leash at ALL times when not in the fenced area due to his fears and his breed - NO EXCEPTIONS. He will also need someone who can handle his strength for times when he might be afraid on a leash. *Note that he is probably not full grown at 103lbs. Theo loves his canine companions and would be unhappy in a home without other dogs, but he will need gentle introductions just b/c he'll be afraid. He loves to play and highly depends on his canine friends. Theo LOVES treats and food, and he is very mild mannered when taking them from you. He loves his morning and evening treat and runs to the kitchen and sits handsomely when he knows it's time. He's a fun boy with a tremendous smile, and he also talks similar to a Husky at times. Theo is devoted to those he loves and appreciates their kindness. He is a lovely boy with an innocent and very sweet disposition. ##1311506##

Denver was rescued from a county shelter after being there over a month. Sadly I have been put in the tough situation to rehome. Denver is a sweet boy who adores other dogs. He will need a string leader dedicated to training. I am happy to chat more about him and our situation.

Story
Meet Harper! She is a 1 year old Anatolian Shepherd who weighs 63 pounds. She is a very high energy dog. She will do best with an active family and in a home with a fenced-in yard. She appears to be crate trained and is quiet in her crate after a few minutes of "getting settled." She is very smart and knows basic commands. She walks reasonably well on a leash, but is VERY curious about her surroundings and loves to take lots of "sniff" breaks. She loves to play fetch, but hasn't figured out how to return the ball yet!  A home with no little children is recommended, as she jumps up frequently when she gets excited. She is not cat tested. She is doing well with the large, male, resident dog and tested well with dogs at the shelter.   If you are interested in adopting Harper, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.    **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **    November 7, 2024, 6:31 pm
