Story
Ricardo is a young Antolian Shepherd mix. He weighs about 70 lbs. He is a great dog. He loves kids and all humans. He is good with dogs but can be selective with males. Ricardo was found running the streets of Philly and ended up in a high intake shelter because another rescue was negligent in placing him in a home and never checked out the "adopter" very well. We got the call that he was in the shelter and because our microchip was planted we reclaimed Ricardo. He has been in a foster home with a close friend and also board member. He has been really good with the kids in the home, he has been also been good with the other dogs but can be selective with the male dogs in the home. He has done well with the one male pittie in the home. He hates the cats. He loves to be outside and fights to come inside. Ricardo loves the water and will lay in the baby pool and soak. He also loves to share the bed but he hogs most of the bed ##1734780##

Story
Mani is a sweet-tempered pup who seems content to match the energy of those around her. She plays very hard with other active dogs, running around the yard and wrestling, but when alone with her people or with calmer dogs she can be quite lazy and low-key. At 55 lbs, she thinks she is a lap dog and loves to snuggle! She has done great with all other dogs she has met (small and large) and is cat-friendly as well, but she can get a bit excitable/vocal when meeting new doggy friends for the first time - she just wants to play with everyone! Previous foster parents have reported that Mani exhibits some separation anxiety when left alone, and this does seem to be mitigated by the presence of other dogs in the house. If left alone loose in the house, she was known to destroy blinds and scratch at doors, so we recommend crating her when there are no humans at home, even though she is house-trained and generally non-destructive. Mani is used to being fed in her crate and will go into it automatically at meal times, but if left in there when she knows people are in the house she will bark to be let out. She will also bark initially for a few minutes after being put in a crate when people are leaving the house, but she usually calms down relatively quickly. Providing a Kong or chewy treat in the crate will mitigate this as well. However, this will need to be taken into consideration for potential adopters who live in an apartment/condo setting. Since her separation anxiety is relatively mild, Mani is not on any medication for it. She does have an old injury to her front leg. It healed long ago and so far vets seem to agree that it doesn't bother her to walk. She may tire out if she plays too hard though. Age: 1 year Weight: 50 lb Temperament: Doing well with dogs and resident cat. Training: Housetrained, crate trained . Vetting: spayed up to date on vaccines, HW negative For questions, please email: ali.mentana@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.
